[The handwriting is scribbled quickly on the page, typical of someone who is used to being a grad student taking quick notes in lecture or a spy taking quick notes on a mission briefing or for a report. The question she asks is typical of someone used to juggling a lot on her life.]

I still have a few questions about this place, but while we're all here, there are places of employment, right? This isn't me accepting my fate here yet, so no confusion there, but I'm a lot better at doing something while looking for or waiting for answers than I am at doing nothing while looking for or waiting for answers.

Well, not that I've yet found the best place to start looking for answers, but I'm working on that. It's a ... careful process.

Sure, there are places to work. Depends on what you want to do, though.

Well, I know the bars are always hiring. And they always need help at the clinic. [She thought about it for a moment.] There was - is? A school. If you wanted to teach.

You're welcome. You need any other help, let me know. I'm Katniss. I run the shooting range.

[There is a pause as Lauren eyes the handwriting. It's far too familiar and causes a metallic taste to fill her mouth. Of course Sydney would be here. It truly wouldn't be a prison without the one person who hated her the most, now would it?

She hesitates a moment before putting pen to paper and writing a response

From what I have managed to discover, there are plenty of jobs around here. However, none of them seem to fall under the category of 'exciting' or even 'particularly dangerous.'

Unless of course you were looking for something horribly mundane, such as sweeping floor or cleaning dishes?

[Her own handwriting is in graceful, easy to read, cursive.. This was the handwriting of someone who had spent plenty of time writing long reports.]
