061. Royal Orleans
[Sometime this morning, an invitation is delivered to every room in the castle. Veterans and newcomers alike, people Brock hates and people Brock begrudgingly tolerates. (And people he likes, too.) For posterity's sake, it also gets pasted in the journal without comment:

Weird???? Maybe. Especially if you know Brock. But it's either a really bizarre prank, or you have an extremely fancy brunch in your future.]
[ooc. brock won't be responding to any journal comments but feel free to threadjack each other. brunch is in in this thread!]

THE BALLROOM
There are tables set up, but you can walk around and mingle instead if you want. There is not a buffet or anything, but ghosts are walking around with plates full of brunch food and drinks (coffee, tea, and a variety of sparkling juices), and they might take requests if you ask. If you're not formally dressed, they will not serve you, though.]

\o/
I never would have pegged you to organize a fancy brunch like this.

Huh? Yeah, I guess tastes change or whatever.

[Her tone is sarcastic. She's slowly getting used to people paying more attention to other things besides her.]

Then help him.
Probably.
So, dressed in a tux, she wanders over to bother Brock]
So. This is new.

What do you mean?
no subject
Fancy parties. I didn't think they were your thing.
[She leans a little closer, squinting at him, perhaps checking for dilated pupils]
Are you sick? Perhaps lost a bet?

[But oh look, it's that... guy...] Were you on like, a really long loss or something?

I actually ended up finally getting a ride back on - get this - a giraffe. True story.

Needless to say, he's wearing his same old dingy suit when he tentatively sneaks into the ballroom. One sweeping glance, and he's tempted to slip right back out -- but there's a tray of food attached to a ghost walking by that catches his attention. Maybe he'll just grab that and make a run for it...]
no subject
He's not dressed in anything different than his usual coat, though, so he's having a hell of a time getting the ghosts to pay attention to him.]
I can't figure this out.
no subject
I think we're all a little lost.
no subject
The corners of his mouth turned down, he waves his hand in front of this ghost's... face...... in the area where the ghost would have a face if it had one.]
What's the point of a fancy brunch where nobody gets served?

[Life of the party, he is.]
[He looks to Felix.] You know this Brock fella?
no subject
Only slightly. We have talked once or twice. I'm fairly certain he's been here longer than I have. In any case, this doesn't exactly seem like the sort of social event he'd plan.

Tex looked around with what was undeniably an amused cant of a helmet. She chuckled, a low slightly metallic sound through the voice filter of the suit. This was a fucking trip. And there was the big blond dude she’d been told was throwing this gig…holy crap. He was built like some of the alien life forms she’d heard stories about. Ok, that was hot, seriously hot. Weird but hot.]
Nice party, do you do tea in the afternoons too?
