Expedition Log 2

[lara_the_explorer]

[Once she mostly recovered from her injuries, there are two things Lara did immediately after getting released from the clinic: Take a long shower and find something to eat. Now she looks clean as a whistle, although still bandaged up in some parts of her body, she went straight to the kitchen to get some food. Been hungry for a few days, and all she did was run, climb, and fall during said few days, so don't expect her to eat all proper. Or eat a small amount of what's available.

She's still uncomfortable about wishing for food, so she scavenged the fridge for something to eat. Sorry if she ate yours!]

[Conan enters the kitchen in search of coffee. He raises an eyebrow at the sight of a familiar face.]

You're looking better.

[Lara reacted out of instinct, but her mouth was full of food. So she paused for a bit before she talked again]

Oh, hello. Conan, was it?

That's right! [He pulls out a chair and starts pushing it towards the counter.]

Conan Edogawa.

Conan. Like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

That's right! My parents were big fans, so they named me after him. Most people don't catch that.

I see. I've never been the type to love detective novels. But I love a good book. Is there a library or a bookstore in here?

You're not? But detective novels are the best! Have you ever read Holmes?

There is! There is a very large library here in the castle.

[lara_the_explorer]

I haven't yet. I often only read archaeology related subjects. I wonder if there are books like that in the library?

There's a large section on it. I've done some reading there.

Oh good! I thought I might die of boredom in this castle. At the very least I have something to keep me occupied for a time.

I don't think you'll be bored for long.

What else does the castle have besides a library? It seems to have electricity for a "magical" castle.

[Bilbo enters the kitchen, as he often frequents it to find food and also clean up, as hobbits are always drawn towards food. As he heads towards the fridge, he spots the woman he met before with the camera device.]

Oh, hello there! Fancy meeting you here.

Oh, hello again Bilbo.

Are you hungry? Is that why you are down here in the kitchen? [Call him nosy, but that is what hobbits are best at.]

[lara_the_explorer]

Definitely. I haven't eaten in days.

Days? Oh dear. Take what you like then, as the castle can always provide more. Do you know you can summon up any kind of food you want?

[lara_the_explorer]

I heard. I'm not comfortable asking the castle for things yet. It's just odd to me.

I can understand that, as I am still trying to wrap my head around the whole idea of things just appearing. I can hardly believe it myself. [Bilbo rarely trusted things that came out of thin air.]

What sort of things do you like to eat? Oh. Where are my manners? I don't you've told me your name yet, and I can't keep calling you "my lady" can I?

Anything edible, I'm not very picky. Or anything not alive. [Lara shuddered, she remember eating exotic food in her travels with Roth]

[Bilbo nodded and gave a polite bow.]

Nice to meet you, Lara. Alive? [He just gave her an odd look for a moment. Was she being serious?] I prefer cooked food, thank you very much.

[Lara laughed at Bilbo's reaction to the live food. Hoping he would recognize that as just a joke.]

I agree with you there.

At least we know good food when we see it. [That brought a smile to the hobbit's lips.] What sort of food do you like, Lara? I myself, prefer a bit of good cheese when I can get it.

I honestly don't mind almost anything. I'm not very picky... I guess anything that's not bad for my health is acceptable.

It's nice to hear that you eat healthily. I like a good luncheon at home and also second breakfast is rather nice. Oh, and I can't forget elevenses too. [He smiled to himself.]

Second breakfast? And I don't think many people in my time eat Elevenses anymore.

Yes, second breakfast. We hobbit are known for our food and drink times. [You will come to know him, Lara.]

Oh I see. [Yeah, she doesn't really know what to say to that. In her time, not a lot of people eat more than 3 times a day. There's fourth meal in Taco Bell though...]
