[so Adachi's had a bit to think about what he saw at that Peace Patrol meeting. True he had only listened in, gotten in with a vouch from Colette, and contributed nothing... but it was enough for him to decide something
so he'll be adding to his private notes to himself]
peace patrol
that wont work for me at all
there was already a slim chance but that basically cinched it
its not for you
they wouldnt want someone like you anyway
if they ever knew
so
now what
i cant just keep doing nothing forever
[ink blots appear on the paper as he taps his pen. suddenly an idea]
a private investigator service then?
hmm
[/Private]
[Joshua, Dictated]
[and then... there's one more thing on his mind. The meeting was kind of enlightening in other ways too... He's not about to run and tell someone the details, he's not a snitch. But tbh? He's not so sure he's comfortable with knowing some of what he now knows.
...man he's not sure how to start this.]
Geez, no wonder you didn't want to stay in prison.
[yes adachi way to state the obvious]
[/Joshua]

No wonder? Who would ever want to stay?

Hey, sometimes prison isn't so bad. When it's not run by incompetent people who don't even know what to do with you anyway.

[wow that is... strangely agreeable for you Adachi.]
It just seems here is more incompetent than the rest. [he'd......really hate to see how they deal with homicides]

What do you want?
no subject
...I want to talk.

and suddenly action now too???????
[and now his voice is coming from outside the door. Yeah that talk between you and Pharos gave him some pretty big clues, Joshua. He's not a detective or nothing.
He shuts his book.]
And I think I figured out just where you've been hiding.

He promptly grabs the man's sleeve and drags him in, shutting the door. Joshua hardly seems surprised that Adachi knows where he is, since he and Pharos did talk about it right in front of him. ...That doesn't explain why he's actually there, though. ]
What is this? Come to take me in?
[ There's no snide quip to accompany it, just a solemn sort of dismissal. He's not even looking at Adachi anymore, walking back over to the bed. ]
no subject
No. Pretty sure that won't do anyone any good.

[ Flop! Picking up the journal again. ]
Nice of you to catch up.

[he rubs his head. Ah, always the epitome of awkward.]
I guess hearing some things helped.

...Geez, you're not really yourself today huh. [you seem....................................almost kinda down maybe idk adachi sucks with this empathy shit some (most) times :|a]

[ But he doesn't get the chance to add to it, as Aron has properly woken up and is suddenly lunging at Adachi to try to knock him over. Joshua goes back to reading his journal. ]
You should have brought Diablo. They could play.
no subject
What the heck is this thing!?
no subject
I don't know. Pharos calls him Aron, though. He likes to hog the bed.
[ Remember that bit of the conversation, Mister Detective? He flips a page. ]
I guess I'll have to leave soon...

[he rubs his neck before sighing]
Besides, it looks like they'd much rather just leave you alone now anyway.

Why are you telling me this?
no subject
Tell me- and try to be honest here. Why do you keep bothering with me?
I mean aside from whatever kind of amusement you get out of annoying me...
Is there something you want to know?
[because right now he knows something about you and as dumb as he knows it is to feel in any way, shape or form bad about it he still wants to even the score. Maybe it has something to do with finally actually starting to feel a little bad for a guy like you.]

The rings in his eyes nearly glow, and there's a shadow of an image of the horns, though any attempt to focus on them will fail. Even the air is heavier; murkier, though easy to miss for those unaware of the supernatural. Joshua isn't trying anything; he's just no longer repressing his aura like he usually needs to. ]
Anything I want to know I'll learn on my own terms. If I wanted to tear you open and read you like a book I could. But...that wouldn't be any fun.
I enjoy lively reactions. It doesn't matter what they are. If yours are negative, I don't exactly care. I don't waste manners on you because you don't deserve them.
Some people just need a push to show their true colors. Lurking around in the shadowy corners the way you do... Your resentment has no fire. I wonder if it did at one time.
