Team Harding: Day One

[By now you should have already woken up to your surroundings. Your camp is near a clifface, overlooking the sea. Nearby are long, metallic trailers, full of hi-tech tracking equipment and enough space to sleep four people. Each has a kitchen and a bathroom, too. In the distance, is the jungle, but it seems largely quiet today]

Just as you said, I suppose. It's wrong. Unnatural.

[She kneels down, her eyes locked on the baby.]

That, and it wouldn't be one of Paradisa's choice vacations if a life threatening situation weren't in the stars for our merry band. One can only guess at what it might be, from the scenery.

Dinosaurs in 20th century London, now that is unnatural. At least the castle thought to place us in a jungle but given how it likes to play tricks, anything is possible.

[He glances at the young lady and sees her watching. He points towards the stegosaurus.] See that one? That's not even the parent of the baby, but look at how it stands close.

It may as well be London, for how obviously humanity has already intervened in these animals' lives. I would loathe to be here when it comes to a head.

[She does look, unable to ignore all interest towards the dinosaurs. Her eyebrow tilts up just the slightest bit.]

A sort of village raising, then?
toobravehearted: (129 Ah you're correct but...)

[She certainly appears to be astute. Yet what she says causes him to bring his finger to his lips, gesturing for shush.] There is a saying about tempting fate. It should be modified in these situations to say don't tempt the castle. But you're quite right. I found tracking technology in one if the trailers in the camp. It's not a great step to think what it could be used on.

[A smile forms on his mouth at seeing her interest. In the excitement he's clean forgot his manners and introductions, which he will be sure to put right the next time he meets this young lady.]

For the slightly younger stegosaurs that the mother made Nanny, it is.

[She doesn't look directly at him until he mentions the tracking tech, at which point her eyes darken just a bit.]

I suspected as much. An archetypcal tale, it seems - humans taking nature into their hands, with disastrous results.
