[By now you should have already woken up to your surroundings. Your camp is in the jungle, surrounded by tents, vehicles and cages full of dinosaurs. Wander around, check out the armoury, wonder why there are a bunch of dinosaurs in cages, or get yourself a tent]

Beats me - but they don't look like the kind of mutts we want on the other side of the bars, if you ask me.

[Gale's standing a few feet away, arms folded, looking equally displeased about the whole situation]

Don't look like much of nothin' I want to have anything to do with. Best steer clear of any of that gou shi.

[he doesn't know what "gou shi" means, but he can hazard a guess]

Yeah - I just need to keep an eye on the people I know, here, make sure they don't get hurt. If there's one thing being here for a year's taught me, it's that things only ever stay quiet for a day or two when they change this much.

[there's a pause, then he offers a hand] I'm Gale.

[Mal gives him a firm handshake.] Malcolm Reynolds. And whaddya mean about people gettin' hurt?

[he'll get a firm handshake back and a nice manly nod of acknowledgement] You must be new around here. ... These animals we've got locked up ... they're definitely dangerous, and if I know Paradisa, eventually something's gonna go wrong. We need to be ready for that.

I'm new enough, I reckon. And I'm always ready.

[Mal pats the gun on his hip. He's got a few more where those came from.]

Are you armed, son?

Not yet, but I know where the armory is. I'm better with a knife than a gun, but I can tell knives and snare traps aren't gonna do me much good against something that size. I'll have to get creative.

I don't know that guns would be much more useful. Not against something that big. Makes me feel better though.

Yeah, you and me both. Besides, they've got some pretty impressive stuff in that armory. Have you gone to see it yet?

I've seen it. Nabbed a couple grenade launchers. Best to stock up before the rush. I figure this thing's gonna go pear-shaped some time soon.
