Team Tembo: Day one

[By now you should have already woken up to your surroundings. Your camp is in the jungle, surrounded by tents, vehicles and cages full of dinosaurs. Wander around, check out the armoury, wonder why there are a bunch of dinosaurs in cages, or get yourself a tent]

[Katniss poked her head through the tent wall - letting out a quiet noise of surprise. Looked like someone else had her idea about getting out to the perimeter...]

[Bond shows no indication of being bothered by the intrusion. He'd just been cleaning the weapons he'd acquired, making sure they were in good working order.]

These tents are meant to house four.

[He gestures to the mostly empty interior indicating that he cares not whether or not she'd like to join him.]

[She paused - briefly - before stepping all the way into the tent. She nods her head once.]

Thanks.

[Then she pulled up a cot, and started to carefully lay out the guns she had gotten herself, along with the knives, checking to see if they had come with full clips. Making sure the safeties were on, and that the sniper rifle had its scope to her liking.]

There cleaning kits in with the guns? [She hadn't seen them, but honestly she had grabbed weapons and then skulked around, looking for traps.]

[He watched her for a moment, curious as to how a girl so young knew so much about guns. He doesn't judge but he does like to know who's on his side, after all.]

Not that I saw. I had one on me when we arrived. [He gestures] You're welcome to it. [He generally doesn't share but he'd much rather know that the weapons were clean and worked properly to avoid dealing with a jammed gun or a misfire.]

[Well Bond, you can tell by the way she's handling the weapons that she's ex-military. Her detachment is cool, professional, and quick, and she handles each weapon like she learned how to do it blindfolded.]

[She glanced over at the cleaning kit, and then cautiously leaned over to pick it up, keeping her eyes on him the entire time. When she leaned back, she nodded.] Thanks. Again.

[She started cleaning her smaller firearms first, clearing her throat uncomfortably.] Katniss. Everdeen.

[Interesting. VERY interesting. If she watches him at all she can tell that he handles his weapons more as an extension of himself than as tools to be used. He's clearly handled guns his entire life, including military time. He snaps the last slide into place and looks up]

Bond. James Bond.

[She turns towards him, giving him the full measured look behind her cool grey eyes. Some kind of fighter - she'd say soldier but the way he held the weapon was ... more natural than anything else. He held himself like a Victor.]

[She nods at the name. Simple, not like back home.] Pleasure, Bond. Thanks for sharing.

[He notices her sizing him up and chooses to keep his eyes on his what he's doing. He'd done much the same thing, after all, he understands the need to know who you're working with.

He nods in acknowledgement]

You're welcome. The more prepared we are the better off we'll be when something happens.

[The only word that Katniss can come up for for Bond is 'dangerous'. Which was good, in a place like this. He also didn't seemed inclined to hurt women or children, or both, so that was another plus in his favor.]

Agreed. We can't take chances.

[All that is generally true... unless, of course, the woman deserves it. Some women are evil bitches who deserve to die. He simply nods and continues his preparations]

[Well, she's not going to argue with that. There are some truly evil women out there.]
