[By now you should have already woken up to your surroundings. Your camp is in the jungle, surrounded by tents, vehicles and cages full of dinosaurs. Wander around, check out the armoury, wonder why there are a bunch of dinosaurs in cages, or get yourself a tent]

[In answer, she expertly dropped the clip out of it, cleared the chamber, reloaded it and then rechambered it, slipping on the safety and twisting to shove it in her waistband.] I'll manage.

[He raised an eyebrow, but smiled, bemused] My concern is apparently noted and expertly crushed under boot.

District 13 didn't let any of their grubs leave the home base without knowing how to take care and strip their weapons. [She eyed the sniper rifle ... and snagged it.] I've had more experience then I ever wanted to.

Does everyone where you come from fight?

[the_effect_she_has]

[She shook her head.] My sister Prim never lifted a weapon in her life. Neither did my mother, or Cinna.

[She looked back at Gren, her eyes narrowing a little, tilting her head.] ...I know you.

[both_neither]

It's been awhile. I'm surprised you remember.

[the_effect_she_has]

[She nodded her head, briefly.] You were there. In my nightmare. You ran with me through The Games.

[both_neither]

Yeah, that was me. I guess I shouldn't be surprised you can handle this, considering. I mean...if that was something that really happened to you.

[the_effect_she_has]

Yeah, that really happened to me. [Her eyes go shuttered, as she makes sure to grab a few knives as well. It happened to her, twice, and she wasn't taking any chances.]

What about you? Are you going to be able to handle this?

[both_neither]

[He wants to ask, but he doesn't]

I'll be fine. I was army for awhile. Enough training to know my way around.

[the_effect_she_has]

[She nodded her head.] I was in the army, too. Where did you fight?

[both_neither]

On Titan.

[the_effect_she_has]

[She frowned a little, tossing the strap to the rifle over her shoulder.] Where's that?

[both_neither]

It's one of Saturn's moons. The biggest one.

[the_effect_she_has]

...Well, I know people get tired of my ignorance, but what's Saturn? [She asked wryly, gesturing for him to follow her.]

[both_neither]

[He nods, doing so, and shoulders his own rifle with ease]

Not everyone here is from the same world. You can't know everything.

It's a planet. Sixth out from the sun in our solar system -- er, that is, the solar system that Earth is in. In my time, or my version of it I guess, we've largely left Earth and colonized the neighboring worlds and their moons.

Aaaaah. [she sighed, a little sadly.] In my time, we ended up destroying most of the Earth, then putting it back together again.

[both_neither]

We didn't really get to that last bit. [He shrugged] I guess once we had the Gates, it was just easier to move on.

What are the Gates?

[both_neither]

They're what make the colonies possible. Super fast travel between points in space. It was an accident with the one over Earth that did it in, though, so...it's a mixed bag.

Ah ... so they found a way to make it possible to travel between worlds? [She shook her head, wonder flashing through her eyes.] What a better use of resources than making yourself have green-tinted skin.

[both_neither]

[A soft laugh, partly because the castle did that to him a few months ago to make him an "alien"]

It might have been better not to ruin the Earth in the first place, but compared to that...yes. Do people really do that where you come from?

People really do.

[She shook her head in quiet disgust.] Anything for amusement, to keep from being bored.

[both_neither]

[He shook his head]

People who are bored aren't looking at life close enough.

[the_effect_she_has]

[She snorted quietly.]

They must be very bored.
