Team Tembo: Day one

[By now you should have already woken up to your surroundings. Your camp is in the jungle, surrounded by tents, vehicles and cages full of dinosaurs. Wander around, check out the armoury, wonder why there are a bunch of dinosaurs in cages, or get yourself a tent]

[Guess who? -- Spike seems to have a sixth sense when they're around; he glanced their way just as they were entering the tent.

For a while he debates doing something with the gun he just lifted from the camp, but that would probably be inappropriate. So instead he just stands by close enough for them to see his shadow from the inside.

[Vicious ignores the shadow for long enough to have a conversation, but after awhile, enough is enough. He can't say for certain who's hanging around out there, but he has a pretty good guess as he heads back out of the tent. He brings the rifle with him]

[Spike makes a point of being preoccupied with whatever he has in front of him (a gigantic drooping leaf?...), and only straights up when Vicious steps out. Like it's the first time he noticed.]

Forget something?

[Vicious isn't fooled for a moment, but it's a nice try, anyway.]

I thought I saw something lurking around out here. Can't be too careful.

[Spike smiles, like just using the word 'careful' makes the joke.]

Yeah, not with dinosaurs stomping around.

[Gren is few paces behind, the rifle slung on his back rather than in hand and arms crossed across his chest. He knows Vicious doesn't like him getting in the way when it came to Spike, so he'll stay standing at the entrance of the tent for the time being, as if this were a casual meeting between friends]

[Friends, right. That's totally what this is. Just chit-chat between buddies. At least Gren was smart enough to hang back this time.]

Give them time. I'm sure they will be.

[Because really. Dinosaur hunting. No way that wasn't going to go badly]

[He doesn't look at Gren directly, but he can appreciate that he's polite enough not to come out with his rifle drawn. Even if that's not necessarily a smart decision.]

You can always count on that from wild animals. A loud noise might even set off the ones drugged in cages.

[That implies he has only one gun. That tranquilizer pistol is within reach in his waistband for any funny business.

He smiles thinly.]

We'll just have to avoid that, then. No reason to have this get messy before it has to.

[His eyes narrow at Spike's remark, but he ignores any subtle jab implied, unwilling to give Spike the satisfaction.]

Caution is the wisest course of action. The fighting will come soon enough.

You think so? [He glances to Gren and back.] With all the firearms it seems like we'd have the advantage.

Can't say. I've never shot at anything that big before. [And there's actual humor in his tone. The fact that they're technically enemies is a formality Gren overlooks often.]
