Team Tembo: Day one
[By now you should have already woken up to your surroundings. Your camp is in the jungle, surrounded by tents, vehicles and cages full of dinosaurs. Wander around, check out the armoury, wonder why there are a bunch of dinosaurs in cages, or get yourself a tent]

A criminal? You.
[ Maybe that's why he hunts them, then, if he knows how to think like them. Now, she thinks...wow, who on earth did she get involved with? ]
...You changed for her? Did your love protect you?

Spike shakes his head at her second question before he can even address the first. Speaking plainly like this is something he's imagined doing countless times, but actually saying it is another obstacle altogether, made harder by the things he doesn't remember.]
It didn't protect either of us. She died.
no subject
And the criminal died with her?
no subject
It wasn't long after.

And then what of the bounty hunter?
no subject
He didn't fair much better.

It's probably hard to tell.

Would that be too hard to believe?

You should have told me, of being a criminal. Of bringing danger to my own door. To my bed.
[ She carried a danger of her own, but he had known. At least, he should have known. But she had also thought it a dream...if he had not then that will only make it more of a crime to have knowingly endangered her. ]

I've never told anyone.
no subject
It's the principle of the matter. And her daughter, he could have endangered Elizabeth... For that alone she should beat him senseless. ]
None here know?
no subject
There's someone else here, from the syndicate. He has a partner. [If that's what they're calling him. For the sake of honesty, he goes on--] And someone else I worked with when I was a bounty hunter.
no subject
Were they here before? Have they been here since I have?
no subject
...Not exactly. He only formed the partnership here. The other one just had ties.
[The last question he hesitates on, which is an answer in itself.]
They've been here.

Anne's lips pinch tightly together, paling, and her grip tightens on the rifle in the only warning before she moves to swing and try to slam the butt of the gun against his stomach. ]
I had you follow my daughter everywhere she went! You dared...!
no subject
He straightens back up though, halfway by necessity.]
I kept her safe.
no subject
You have protected nobody! You have only made it worse. Everything! Everything!
no subject
He tries to meet her eyes, and any other excuse he had leaves him once he sees her expression. He's always wondered how someone might react if they learned the truth about him. At least this finally settles his curiosity.]
If anyone deserves to lose their head.

[ But despite the blatant threat, she doesn't move to shoot him as Plan B, instead just swaying on her feet a bit as her leg begins to complain for true. Anne lets the rifle hang by the strap as both hands quickly move to cover her face, but they can't conceal the sound of her sobs, and she can barely get her words out between them. ]
We have...doomed one another plainly...enough.
no subject
Vicious is back there in their camp. Does he point him out to her? It's not as if running off is an option.
He clenches his jaw, as if he has to physically hold himself back from pushing her further than she's able to take. Then he steps forward to hold a hand tentatively above her shoulder, before moving to grip the rifle and alleviate the weight.]
I've made worse mistakes.
