054 Spells Cast
[While everyone else seemed happy to be in sunny California there was one person who actually seemed disappointed. After a long bubble bath and a good night's sleep Phoebe certainly felt better after her scrape with the Jurassic. She still had a few scrapes and bruises but they'd all heal in time... they always did.
Slipping into a bathing suit and some sandals she walks down to the beach. As soon as she reaches it she pulls off her sandals, looping the straps over her fingers and letting her toes sink into the soft almost familiar sand. Ignoring everyone else on the beach she walks down until the surf laps at her feet. Her sandals drop to the ground beside her. She looks out over the water, one hand lifting to hold her hair away from her face as the wind blows it. So close. So close. She's looking over the same ocean she's lived near her entire life and yet... Her gaze turns to the right - North. 500 miles. San Diego is only 500 miles from San Francisco... from home. Sure she knows that this isn't really San Diego, that this isn't really California and she can't really get home from here. But the pull is still strong. This is the closest she's been to home in just over two years... and on the Summer Solstice no less. In this moment she feels more homesick than she's ever been.
In her heart she knows it's not going to work but she has to at least try... She closes her eyes and opens her heart]
Power of the witches rise
Course unseen across the skies
Come to us who call you near
Come to us and settle here.
[She waits for a minute or two before repeating the spell, voice softer this time. Nothing. It was selfish, she knew, but if she didn't at least give it a shot she would have always wondered if it might have worked. Brittany's words echo through her mind, "Well it should." Of course she had been talking about birthday wishes but Phoebe can't help but make the connection and inwardly scold herself for how foolish she was being. She should just accept this for what it is - a short glimpse of home.
She sits down on the sand, gazing wistfully out at the ocean.]
