Luck on your side

So yesterday was the Feast of Fortuna. It's this celebration for the goddess of luck. I don't really know what you actually do at the feast. Maybe get a bunch of rabbit's feet and horseshoes together. Or maybe you just eat a lot of food.

This is gonna sound weird after all the things we've had to go through lately, but I feel pretty lucky. Any time you can go through a dino attack and say we all got through in one piece is worth celebrating.

I don't know if it's optimism. More like taking in the small victories. Like going through an entire school year without being kicked out. Even just living to see another day.

The truth is, neither can I. I think about my mom and stepdad all the time. I haven't seen either of them since before Christmas, and then I've been here for years.

I wonder about my little brother, my friends... And all the people here. Violet, Allen, you. Sometimes focusing on the good things is all I can do to keep going, you know?

We used omamoris for good luck back home, so we're not familiar with those other two.
