[10] Shaggy Black Padfoots Action; backdated to just after the full moon
[ Early, early in the morning after the full moon, there is a large, and rather baleful-looking shaggy black dog making his way up to the castle steps. With the way it moves, creeping low and out of the way, it would almost seem like the dog is trying not to be seen.
Well... that'd be because he is. Sirius Black is in some serious trouble again, after all; but this time it's with one of his own best friends.
Padfoot arrives at the large front doors and almost scratches at it, but stops himself for fear of drawing attention. After a moment of pacing around, he manages a soft yowl and watches as Cair Paradisa grants him a dog door.
He squeezes through it, hoping no one's barmy enough to be awake and down in the lobby this early... ]

There's a small clatter and the sound of shattering glass when Remus' shaking fingers are unable to get a good grip. With a rather defeated sigh, he reaches for his wand and points it at the broken glass on the floor. ]
R-Reparo.

He stops short.
There, 10 feet right in front of him but facing away, is poor Remus himself, trying to get himself some water and barely managing the charm to fix the glass he's broken. With a rather guilty pang he realizes that even for just coming out of a full, his friend looks absolutely terrible- thinner, if that's even possible, and the tremor in his bones is discernible even from this distance.
Sirius suddenly finds himself advancing, slowly but purposefully forward toward his friend, on two bare feet (when did he change back?) He stops when there's a scant few inches left between his chest and his friend's back, and brings his hands around to gently trap Remus'. He then gently, almost tenderly, begins to guide his hands, turning them this way and that smoothly, helping him hold the glass, leading his hand to the tap, steadying him as the glass fills with water.
He doesn't say anything. Doesn't quite have the nerve to, really- Remus is the one who smooth talks them all out of spending the rest of their natural lives in detention, and it's Remus who's right mad now. There's nothing Sirius could say that would be good enough for that. ]

He does not dare look back at him, though, for fear that Sirius will disappear, that this is only a mere illusion his poor, ravaged mind cooked up just to spite him. Instead, he watches the glass fill with water, his eyes locked onto the hand holding his so gently and warmly and he wants to cry.
He wants to cry because Sirius is here. Sirius is safe and he is here.
There are a lot of things Remus wants to ask him. He needs answers, he wants to know why Sirius left and did not come back when Remus had been trying nearly every day. ]
S-Sirius ... ?
[ His voice is just a tiny little croak when he speaks, still raw from the change. ]

[ Sirius presses his cheek right behind Remus' ear, not quite nuzzling his hair as he shushes him softly. He's already reeling from the scent that fills his nostrils- of the trees and dirt of the forest and of the old musty books in the library, filling him with Padfootish instinct-senses like woods and home and alpha (and oh, that brings a fresh wave of shame, because Moony's had to go two fulls without one) and a new dog-thought welling up under all of it that Sirius hasn't quite put a name to yet.
Mate supplies itself quite readily, now that the source is literally right in front of him. Sirius accepts it without actually paying it any mind, like skin absorbing sunlight, and braces himself as Remus' thin weight settles against him, drawing in turn a huff of warm breath against the other boy's ear.
He notices that Remus isn't doing anything with that glass of water, and finally allows himself to speak. ]
You can lead a werewolf to water, but you can't make him drink...
[ He sighs with just a trace of a chuckle, and moves Remus' hand to set the glass on the counter.
He's sure his friend has questions, questions he's all too willing to answer at that, but not right now. This is important. This is what he spent two months trying to figure out for himself, that he's needed for much longer. ]

There's a heavy pause before he speaks again and it's clear he's trying to hold back. He's missed him so much... ]
Where'd you go?
no subject
I went into town to get lost... I wanted to be by myself for a bit.
[ His face sinks to his shoulder slowly, turning his face to his neck slowly. ]
I'm so sorry...
no subject
Sirius is warm, though, and he's starting to feel a lot of the stress from the full and from Sirius' disappearance start to ebb.
Sirius' answer doesn't surprise him, nor does it anger him. At one point he had been upset, but worry had quickly overtaken that.
He does want to know why, however. ]
Wh-Why?
no subject
I had a lot of things to think about. [ He sighs a little, his breath being muffled by clothing and bare skin. ]
I needed to make sure that this was real, for one, and um. Not all in my head or anything.

He lets out a shaky little breath and turns his head to look at him. ]
And -- [ He clears his throat, his mouth suddenly feeling dry. ] And did you figure it out?
(frozen comment) no subject
He's afraid, or maybe 'vulnerable' is a better word. It's not at all that he thinks Remus will reject him-- it's Moony, for Merlin's sake. No- for all the snogging in the hallways and all the Hogsmeade afternoons at Madam Puddifoot's and all the right things he's whispered in all the girls' ears, this is an all new game, all new subtleties that Sirius hasn't gotten down to an exact art, too much new altogether. This idea of completely offering up your feelings for someone to do away with as they wish is the most frightening part of all.
Scratch 'afraid' and 'vulnerable'. Sirius is terrified.
Instead of trusting his voice, he starts to lift his face a little, bringing his hand up slowly to turn his friend's chin up to face his, and presses his lips to Remus'. ]
(frozen comment) (Dat icon.)
If there's one thing he's absolutely sure of, he's never going to get tired of Sirius kissing him.
He presses into it ever-so-slightly, smiling only because he can't help it. Sirius likes him back and it's really quite a wonderful feeling; having someone you like, like you back just as equally. After a very long moment or two, Remus gently pulls away and opens his eyes to look at him, cheeks red and a smile pulling at the corners of his lips.
To say he isn't scared would be a lie. He's scared, no doubt about that, but that won't stop him. ]
So it's real, then?
(frozen comment) Re: (Dat icon.)
The hand on his chin slips around to card through his hair softly, fingertips brushing his nape every few moments. ]
Yeah. Yeah, it's real... Whatever this is. I like it. I like us. We should be a thing.
[ Yes, he's babbling, but it's not like you can blame him. Sirius' head is scrambling to keep up with the rest of him and the emotions driving his mouth. HE JUST HAS A LOT OF FEELINGS OKAY... ]
(frozen comment) no subject
He turns to face him better, placing one hand on his chest gently and leaning in again to give him a very soft and shy kiss. When he pulls away, his smile is wider and he suddenly doesn't look as tired as he did before. ]
I'd like us to be a thing, too.
(frozen comment) no subject
Would you really...?
[ He's starting to regain some of his previous swagger, but it's gentler, and less contrived. He attributes it largely to small familiarities to what he's used to- be it Remus or some bird or another from school, this intimacy is nothing he's not used to. The fact that it's someone he's genuinely in love with, however, softens his normally suave, practiced demeanor. ]
(frozen comment) no subject
Of course I would.
As long as you'll have me, anyway ...
no subject
Hey there boy. C'mere.
[Chie motions him over]
Are you looking for your master?
no subject
no subject
Do you want me to help you find your master? You're up real early!

[Chie stands up, gently scratching Padfoot's head]
Where's your master's room? Can you show me?
no subject
If you are the one known as Sirius Black, I have a message from Remus Lupin, that I was asked to deliver should I find you.
no subject
[ The damned thing scares Sirius right out of his fur and back into his opposable thumbs, which helpfully support each of his hands on one side as he stares at the thing, sprawled and panting on the stone steps in front of it. ]
I-I'm Sirius Black, yeah, but what the hell are you? And can you keep it down? Remus must be sleeping by now...
no subject
[Bladewolf just sits down, his tail waving back and forth, waiting so Sirius can collect himself.]
no subject
And you know who I am, apparently... What's this about Remus?
[ He knows he heard Remus' name in there somewhere. ]
no subject
He gave me a message to deliver, once I found you. Begin playback...
[He calls up the recording he made of Remus's request, and plays it for Sirius.]
"Please tell him that if he doesn't come to see me or James right away, I'll hunt him down and make sure he gets a taste of a new hex I've learned."
[The recording over, Bladewolf speaks again.]
Based on the short conversation I had with Remus, he was upset with you, though this was several weeks ago. It is likely he is no longer upset, though I do not know him well enough, or the nature of your relationship, to accurately judge this for myself.
no subject
Aw, hell... He's gonna kill me...
[ "Nature of your relationship"? You and him both, pal. ]
H-how mad did he sound...?

Unfortunately instead of tiring him out the sight of a very familiar shaggy dog friend insures that he'll be wide awake and not falling back asleep any time soon.
He's stomping his way over to Sirius now, looking like he can't decide if he's relieved, amused or livid. And clearly not caring how much sound he's making. ]
You little git!
[ He missed the hell out of you, Sirius, and was worried about you :( ]
no subject
Padfoot shifts, as quickly as he can safely manage, back into Sirius-- he owes his best friend that much, at least-- and puts his hands up defensively. ]
A-Alright, Prongs, just-- don't be hasty--
no subject
James is still storming on over looking like he's ready to take a swing at him, but when he gets closer when he lifts up his arm instead of trying to punch Sirius in the face... James attempts to grab him in a headlock.
Small improvement? ]
Don't be hasty?! You're not one to give me lectures about that right now!
no subject
If only out of first instinct, Sirius tries to fight back against him at first, kicking his legs to try to throw his friend off-balance, but when he remembers why exactly this is even happening, his attempts become halfhearted at best. ]
Yeah- yeah I know I'm not-- c-come on, Jamie, let go--! [ It all comes out in choked-off wheezes while he tries futilely to smack James in the face. He knows he definitely deserves every last bit of this, but still. ]
H-how long was I even gone...?
no subject
James does finally relent a little and loosen his grip on Sirius, but he's not letting go yet. ]
Long enough that you've lost track of the date, I see.
shdfkljashdfkjshd i didn't forget about you guys i promiseeeeee
Yes, I did... now c'mon, just let go... I can tell you why I left, can't I?
Good! You better not!
Well then lets hear it.
