#002 - Action

[Well. That was an adventure. Souji never knew he didn't actually want to meet real dinosaurs, thanks for ruining that childhood fantasy, Paradisa. He also figured out his loss, that was fun, too. But now it's back to the daily scheduled Wacky Castle Adventure™, and in a fit of restlessness, he's gone down where everyone inevitably goes when they get bored enough and wishes feel like cheating.

Down to the kitchen.

And he's cooking. Everything is going alright in making this beef and vegetable stew, so far, but after tasting it, he's not so sure it has enough zing. It needs more flavor, more kick!

So he's going to add some of those funny-looking peppers he found in the fridge. The fact that the stew is actually smoking now isn't necessarily a bad thing, right?]

...Smells good.

I did them all year round, but yeah, I did spend a lot of time working over the summer.

It was a good way to pass the time when no one was available to hang out.

[Somehow she felt a drop of guilt for not being able to hang out with Souji during those times. She hang out with Yukiko the most, of course, and sometimes help Yosuke out in Junes]

Where did you work again? I kinda forgot.

Oh, here and there. Most of it was done at home, sometimes at the day care, sometimes the hospital night shift...

[Man, that night shift. Just remembering that nurse makes him shiver a little bit.]

Wow, you worked there? My mom actually wanted me to, but I help out at the inn instead. I get paid and get to spend time with Yukiko!

That... sounds like a good deal, actually. If they were hiring I'd have probably gone there, instead. The hospital was a little... scary.

[Not because of the weird corridors and darkness, either.]

Oh, yeah. That place is pretty creepy. I heard so many stories about that place having ghosts... [Shudder]

I don't think there are any ghosts. Just... other things.

...Well, it turned out alright in the end. I guarantee, there's nothing in that hospital to creep anyone out anymore.

It- no, no, there was never anything scary there. Just people.

[Really, now, Chie. They've seen enough things that ghosts could be real, sure, but not today.]

All the scary stuff rumors were just that. Rumors. There was never anything in there but the night shift doctors and nurses. Oh, and me.

Oooh [Chie sighed out of relief] Oh my god, I thought it was actually ghosts. That would have been so freaky I would want to go to that hospital at night...!

I guess, aside from you know what, Inaba really is a quiet little town. There's nothing big to worry about around there at all.

Yeah. You're right. I guess I've just been reading those stories on the internet that Yukiko kept linking me to.

Maybe. It's a good thing you read this stuff, though. Isn't that how we found out about the Midnight Channel in the first place?

[If not for Chie's superstition, they could all he pretty screwed right now.]

[Oh, that was right! Souji hopped up and trotted over really quick to actually check on that, and from eyeballing the fish and giving it a smell, he had to give a satisfied nod.]
