Sometimes, I think it is too quiet here.
[The opening of the art gallery had gotten Will to start thinking about his brother Max, who was away at art school. And from there Will had started to think about his other siblings. Stephen, away in the Merchant Marines. The twins, Robin and Paul. Barbara and Gwen and Mary. James, only a year older than Will.
He missed them all desperately.]

Fair enough. Well, what would you like to see people doing?

It feels empty here, even with so many people living in the castle.

In theory at least.

It has been a long time since I've played cribbage.

[He missed his family, as well as his job. Even if things had gone south, it still kept him busy, and he still liked to think he was making some sort of difference. There wasn't a dull moment at home. But when the castle wasn't doing anything drastic, the days seemed to drag and run into one another.]

...Except when the castle decides to play its tricks.

Those days with the castle's tricks are awful. But in between...
I think that I would give a great deal to have something to work on.

[He was quietly grateful for her response, all the same.]
I think it is because it is so unlike home. In my home, there was nowhere you could go that you could not hear the presence of others. It always felt full of people, even when I was alone.

No, I do not think I could call this place boring.
Re: Dictated
The dinosaurs weren't boring though.
Re: Dictated
[Will agrees with this in a mild voice.]
Rather the opposite of boring.
But I am not thinking of excitement. I am thinking of how this castle feels.

But that wasn't exactly here, was it? And it is not that kind of excitement I am speaking of. I am speaking more of the feel of this castle.
