Everyone, this is Emma. I need to inform you all that a very dangerous man has arrived in Paradisa. His name is Raoul Silva, though he has also been known as Tiego Rodriguez. He is an ex-soldier and notorious terrorist from my world, and is responsible for the deaths of .... [she stopped counting before he even left her employ] many, many men. By this point I am rather certain the count of innocents is higher than the count of those he killed in service of his country.

I am writing to you this morning not only to warn you of his presence, but to ask a favor of you: to not inform him of my own. It is inevitable that he will find it out on his own, of course, but I am playing for time. Shortly before I arrived in Paradisa, several months ago, I was running for my life, and I am quite certain he will still want to take it from me. Any time that you can aid me in buying would be most appreciated, and I will be in your debt.

[a pause, and then:]

He also has a very annoying habit of calling me his mother. I assure you, that is not the case.

[He doesn't respond. However it's not long before there's a rap on the door. He'd just jimmy the lock but he didn't want her to think it was Silva trying to break in]

And you've just announced your presence by saying that.

[DAMN him for being right, damn him to hell. she needs to get a better grip than this. seething, more at herself than at him, she slams the bolt back home and wrenches the door open.

the way she jerks her head to one side clearly says what she won't: well, go on, get in here and be quick about it.]

[He quickly slips in, eyes searching the shadows of the bar though he knew them to be empty. They were suddenly in very dangerous times and there was no such thing as too much caution.]

[once the door is secure behind him, she sighs, moving toward the bar, away from windows and doors]. Our names are plastered all over the damn doors. Going underground here is going to be hell.

[He slips one hand into his pocket as he follows her towards the bar. Christ he needs a drink]

He knows I'm here already and unless he knows your real name [he gives her a pointed look] we may be able to buy time in that regard.

You found it out, didn't you? The day I made you double O, no less. Do you really think he won't have done the same?

[she huffs out a quick sigh and pours them each a drink]

Katniss Everdeen is on her way here.

[He shrugs, nodding slightly in agreement. She does have a point, there. He can't really argue with that one.]

We need to find out where he'll be staying. [And no he's not outright assuming he'll stay in the castle. Lord knows if he were in Silva's position he wouldn't. He picks up his drink.]

Who else did you tell?

[she lists them all off, following with:] No one I don't already know I can trust. That girl you mentioned, Mitsuru. She has a secure apartment in the town, and is willing to put a key at a drop point.

[He nods in acknowledgement]

Good. Having a safe house outside of the castle make things easier.

[she nods her agreement, not wanting to waste precious time.]. If there's anything you feel we should discuss in private, Bond, I'd say it now. Katniss won't be far off, I'd wager. She said she was making a perimeter check. And we need to decide where I'm to go. I can't hide here like someone in a bad horror film.
