I would first like to thank everyone for their kind words and actions regarding my sister's departure. It truly means a great deal to me to know that there are such nice people in this castle - many of whom I can call my friends. I don't have friends back home so it's a comfort to have so many people here I can speak with and spend time with. I still miss my siblings terribly but it does help ease the burden somewhat to know I'm not alone. Thank you.

[She clears her throat softly before continuing]

Since I still find myself at a proper size of which to do this with I would very much like to make something for everyone. Well, perhaps not everyone since there are quite a few people in the castle. It may be more accurate to say that I would very much like to make something for as many people as I am able to. I am not a professional chef, by any means, but I have been learning and many have said my cooking is quite good. Most recently I have been trying to teach myself how to make a number of deserts. If anyone would like to sample something I will be in the kitchen much of the day. Additionally if anyone has anything they would like me to make please feel free to ask.

[Since Violet's departure Sunny has been mostly holed up in Lemony's room reading and staring out the window. She knows, however, that she can't live like this forever. It's not healthy, it's infringing on Mr. Snicket's space and her sister wouldn't want her to become agoraphobic - which in this case means "One who stays indoors all the time anguishing over an unfortunate event." Thus she's forcing herself out and about again, determined to try to bring the smile back to her face somehow. Cooking has been a comfort as of late so what better way to help cheer herself up than to cook for the people of Cair Paradisa?]

[Jennifer had seen the offer in the journal; not being much of a cook herself, and wanting to have some good home-cooked food- wishing for something somehow never tasted the same- she decided to wander down to the kitchen. The ever-present Blue received a quiet command to stay outside.]

[Sunny turns at the voice, smiling. She has a spatula in her hand, having just been removing the most recent batch of cookies from the cookie sheet on the counter]

Yes, hello!

I heard that someone was offering, so I thought I'd come taste. [Jennifer returns the smile.] I can't cook very well myself, so I usually take people up on it when they offer. What's cooking?

Cooking is far more enjoyable when you can share it with others. [She smiles] These cookies have just come out of the oven but there are other things to choose from if you prefer something else. [She gestures around the counters.]

I was just trying to decide what I would make next if you have anything in mind.

Jennifer considers, wishing up a napkin, putting it on the counter and gingerly setting a few cookies on it so that they cool.

"Well, do you have a specialty of some sort, or are you learning a bit of this and that? I wouldn't mind something savory... there's plenty of desset for after so far. Of course, I know that's pretty broad."

[She shrugs slightly, setting the baking sheet in the sink]

I've been trying to experiment with making different things since once this loss has finished I will not be able to do so any longer.

"Oh? Why is that, if you don't mind me asking?"

Jennifer tries to think back to see if anyone had mentioned being on a loss on the journals; of course, it was entirely possible she may have missed it, having been in a numb funk since the Event Horizon.

"Pardon me if you've mentioned it somewhere already," she adds hastily.

Sunny smiles patiently, "I have mentioned it over the journals but as we hadn't met it's understandable that you would not have noticed.

I'm currently on a loss. My true age is 2 years old."

[There are a few voices that Church will pay attention too when they come over his open journal. Sunny's is one of them. He might as well take the opportunity to take a break from his repair work and check up on her.]

Wow, you've been busy.

[He looks around the kitchen with an amused grin, it's too bad he can't eat.]

[Her face lights up when she sees Church.]

Hello, Church! [She looks around at her handiwork] I suppose I have, yes.

So, how are you settling in?

I'm doing much better now, thank you. I've been staying with Mr. Snicket for the moment. Although I have had other offers I think it's a comfort for both of us to be together for now.

Good. How about the being old enough to use the kitchen on your own?

[She grins]

It's wonderful! I'm greatly enjoying being able to use all of the kitchen implements without someone telling me I should not. [a laugh] And being able to reach everything makes it quite a bit easier as well.
