Rose: Digivolve into Jane
[It's not an uncommon sensation in Paradisa, this "waking up and feeling something isn't quite right" nonsense. Usually that little twinge in the back of her head means that Rose is about to open her eyes to a jungle, or a cruise ship, or something equally irritating.
Waking up dressed as one of her good friends is another thing entirely.
She's spent ten or so minutes in front of the mirror already, trying to pull off the wig or remove the glasses, or at least pry off the fake front teeth. But one feature of the costume is particularly annoying. She addresses the journal in a flat, deadpan, slightly-impaired-by-fake-teeth voice.]
I seem to have acquired an unremovable mustache. Is there anything going on that I should be aware of?
[Filtered to Jane Crocker]
Would you happen to be in possession of my clothing, or is this more of a one-way transaction?
[A pause as she tries to squint at the journal.]
Your eyesight must really be quite terrible, Jane. I can barely see a thing through these glasses.

[A pause as she tries once more to remove the glasses.]
I seem to be dressed as Jane.

This I got to see.

[It's really not. The rest of the costume makes sure of that.]
Come visit me at the outpost, then.

[Sure, she's two years older, but...]
Is this a trap.

As far as I know, I am still a biologically female human fifteen-year-old. I've merely been forced into an unremovable costume. That of your friend Jane, in fact. With an added mustache of thus-far questionable origins.

[ She laughs hersef. ] I didn't know how much this whole thing can effect a person though. You never know around here. I'm still wholly female myself. Wholly female and wholly bad ass.

[Her voice gets a little quieter - she's backed up from her dresser, trying to see the back of the wig.]
You're correct, one never knows. I have certainly seen biological sex changed by a loss many times before. Though I suppose if that were to happen, I would merely turn into Dave.

Rose; Dictated
Do I have your...oh! No, no, I haven't got your clothes at all, Rose! I would be more than happy to switch if that were the case. I think I have contacts on, but they're not doing anything to help...

You've been dressed as one of our troll friends, then?

[There's a pause. It seems like she's just discovered how much that makeup smudges.] Oh, beans in a bucket!! I've gotten grey on everything!!!

[She's trying not to laugh at the mental image.]
Which of our friends are you dressed as?

Sounds like a rather nasty curse to me.
[ And by nasty he means funny and harmless. ]

It could always be worse, I suppose. It could have been a handlebar.
[She briefly imagines trying to drink tea with one of those.]
I'm currently living at the outpost - have you seen any cases of unwanted costumes around the castle?
no subject
[ He has to think for a moment on that one. ]
I suppose I've seen a few people around looking a little more out of place than usual.
