☼ [Dictated] ☼

I have found myself in the most curious sort of predicament. One moment, I was dead and the next, I am standing in the middle of what I can only describe as a room with a remarkable view. To further complicate matters, I have located this device which is all too foreign to me. Thankfully, I am in full possession of my wits - which are substantial - and I was able to turn it on.

[He pauses to let his words sink in before continuing, his tone as light and unassuming as ever:]

My name is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, though that is rather much to remember. There was a time that I simply responded to Albus, so I think that shall do for the present time.

What I seek are answers and I will patiently await them until either they drift my way or I discover them on my own.

[ Startled would have been more accurate, but not mentioning it will just result in things going quite smoothly. That, and Duke wouldn't make amused faces at the 'young' implied- ]

They tend to be. Aina and Niffel are somewhere else, so if a large lizard or a cloud-and-bird come by, that would be them. They are usually quiet ... friendly.

[ If a bit motherly. Ah... What else was there- ]

... There ought to be a middling height outcropping....

[ Which direction it is in is left unsaid, as Duke turns and heads that way. And really, it looks more like the castle understood he wanted rocks, and made any furniture look like it. That should be more comfortable than sitting on the ground. ]

[ He just ages ridiculously well for a human. He's not young, but he isn't as old as a could be guessed.

And more than he would like to admit.
]

... It is ... something that I am working on.

[ He's getting used to that people-can-be-nice thing, and figures he should reciprocate. Duke settles near-ish, shifting his long hair out of the way and tilting his head in thought. ]

Unless something has changed drastically within my magic....

[ He shakes a hand out, then taps his fingers on the air a moment. Dull red glowing script forms that long formula in the air, hopefully before them both. ]

Called the Rizomata formula, think already said that... And this section.... [ Depending how aware Dumbledore is with magic, he might feel the amount in the room concentrate a little, when Duke reaches out to swipe his fingers along a few lines, highlighting them with a brighter glow. ]

Is the part for gathering.

Yes. Rizomata is normally forgotten, other mages use items to enable them to quickly cast. At the moment, it is simply 'on', it will gather... aer, mana, ambient magic... until I tell it to stop. If I take this section and substitute in.... First Aid.

[ The script slides apart, and a warm golden color script fills in part of that space. It has a bunch of ranges scattered about in it, most of them variable at the moment. ]

Now it only gathers necessary for First Aid. It is a little slower, but has no reliance upon aids for casting.

[ This is an amused noise. ]

Similar, I think. Forget what can be done without the aid, think that it all revolves around having one... and thus are completely useless when it is targeted.

[ He flicks his fingers and the golden script flies off, returning to the original one. Then the symbols reshuffle themselves a bit, and that center formula is more or less is inverted from the first formula. ]

This is the most common use of Rizomata. The ambient magic of my home had an unfortunate tendency to get too thick, which played havoc on much of the life.

[ With 'the life', he means plant-life, wildlife, humans, kritya-

Everything tended to run into problems when confronted with concentrated aer.
