I have found myself in the most curious sort of predicament. One moment, I was dead and the next, I am standing in the middle of what I can only describe as a room with a remarkable view. To further complicate matters, I have located this device which is all too foreign to me. Thankfully, I am in full possession of my wits - which are substantial - and I was able to turn it on.

[He pauses to let his words sink in before continuing, his tone as light and unassuming as ever:]

My name is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, though that is rather much to remember. There was a time that I simply responded to Albus, so I think that shall do for the present time.

What I seek are answers and I will patiently await them until either they drift my way or I discover them on my own.

I am fully capable of performing Magic without a wand.

Is there something you can't do?

[aphoenixsong]

I cannot convince my colleagues and those that are fond of me that I prefer socks over books as presents.

[wolfchild]

[ what. ] For true?

[aphoenixsong]

Quite. They insisted on expanding my library.

[wolfchild]

But socks are so much easier to get. And they're more useful.

[aphoenixsong]

You will find no argument out of me. When I resided in Hogwarts, I was forever plagued by drafts.

[wolfchild]

[ huh. ]

That's that school, isn't it?

[aphoenixsong]

It was a school and a castle much like this one.

[wolfchild]

Remus goes there. He told me about it.

[aphoenixsong]

Ah so you have spoken to Mister Lupin. He is a student of mine.

[wolfchild]

He's my friend. Are you a maester?

[aphoenixsong]

I suppose I could be called such, though I prefer Professor or Headmaster.

[wolfchild]

What are those?

[aphoenixsong]

Mere titles for my choice of profession. I was a teacher and then, when I was offered a higher position, I became one who oversaw those who taught within the castle.

Do you like it? I've never gone to a school. I'd hate it.

[aphoenixsong]

I have always loved learning and what better place to learn than at a school?

Why do you think you would hate it?

[wolfchild]

I hate sitting.

[aphoenixsong]

Then you would be happy to know that Hogwarts included many practical classes in the curriculum.

[wolfchild]

Doesn't matter. You wouldn't let me near. I don't have magic.

[aphoenixsong]

True. You would gain little from the lessons.

[wolfchild]

[ she likes albums well enough so far. and she can respect being selective in choice of students. not everyone can or should be made to undertake certain lessons. but none of that will stop her from setting him straight. ]

That's very unfair. People don't need magic to learn. Someone without it could do well in lots of those classes.

[aphoenixsong]

That is where we must differ. If you do not possess even a small amount of Magic, you will not be able to see Hogwarts.

[wolfchild]

Why not?

[aphoenixsong]

Such is the spell that has been placed upon it. There was once a time that those without Magic hunted those that had it. The Founders of Hogwarts wanted to protect their students.
