[Gale had woken up early to check the paint in the newly finished rooms in Cass de Guts' attic. it had almost dried, and he grinned to himself as he went downstairs to let Crowley's menagerie out for the morning. his timing had been fantastic: by the time everyone was up for breakfast, he could show them the new rooms. he was particularly excited for one reqction, though, and he decided to go surprise her early.... only to find that there was no one there, and her room was tidy, as though she hadn't slept in it at all. his heart sank, and he went back down to the kitchen and opened his journal to write a message. Dictation at that hour probably wouldn't be appreciated]

I think Nanako Dojima has gone home. Would anyone be willing to check her room in the castle and verify it?

[news delivered, he went back to making breakfast, though a good amount of the wind had gone out of his sails]

As far as I can tell, she's been keeping to her room. And the guy who is hunting her isn't ... there. I think he's hiding. For now.

[She shook her head.] I only caught glimpses, while I was running through the maze. Bleached blonde hair. He may or may not still be injured.

Y-Yeah... Actually her big brother is in the castle now... He's been looking forward in seeing her, but she was hard to reach through the journal.

It really is.... I still haven't quite figured out why anyone actually puts up with how insane it is. Well, anyone who isn't already used to it.

Maybe they just descend quietly into the madness and we don't even notice.

Sometimes I think it's not so much a quiet descent as one of us pushes them down the stairs while laughing at them. [eye. brow.]

[Examining his fingernails] I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about.
