[There's an entry in the journal today, written in shaky hotel pen.]

Hello magic book!

Yesterday I learned that people can talk in you but I hope writing in you works the same way!

I woke up in a strange building with lots and lots of weird things, but I met a big, silly puppy so I wasn't so scared! And the people in the...what's the word? Restaurant? They make yummy food for me! So maybe this place isn't so scary after all! Though the tomato sauce for the pasta is kind of strange...so it's still a strange building.

I think I would like to make lots and lots more friends here!

[And at the bottom of the page there is a very nice ink sketch of the big silly puppy he met in the lobby. It's even shaded!]

There's an art gallery here... You should submit something. I know the owner. She's very nice, and there's even a chalkboard you can draw on, if you didn't want to give her any art to display. I could hsow you where it is, if you want.
