[ the forbidden forest it may be called, but arya could find little reason for it to be forbidden. she could not see anything that really merited the moniker. she pictured strangling vines, carnivorous flowers, distant screams of animals. what she found was quite tame in comparison.

but even if it had had all what she had imagined, she would go inside regardless. the direwolves were in there.

no one had stopped her today when she tried to walk out in normal clothes so there's no heavy robe to snag on a root or bushes. the clothes are all earth clothes, but they're comfortable and good to move in. she grins up at robb as they walk into the shade. it almost feels like being back north, in the wolfswood, where she was never allowed to join the boys, though bran could even if he was younger and weaker and not as good a rider. having aemon and northern son would make it better, but she doesn't mind walking. less so when she's with her brother. ]

Will you go with me to the pitch tomorrow? You can help me practice. I'm really good at it, did you see?

[ she knows he did. but arya hasn't yet tired of hearing robb tell her he was proud of her. she doesn't think she ever shall. ]

ota; dictated; action for the owlery;

[ the soft sounds of cooing and rustling wings float through the air. seated on the steps to the owlery, arya strokes winter's glossy feathers. though she has her journal open in front of her, arya watches the darkening evening sky. when she speaks, it sounds almost like she's thinking out loud. ]

Where did everyone go today? Why did some have to stay behind?

[ early morning and arya is ensconced in a corner of one of the rarely used herbology labs. she ignores the whispering plants and focuses on the papers spread in front of her. she waves her wand over them, muttering furiously under her breath. when nothing happens, she swears. loudly. and very creatively. ]

[ a bit of an exasperated sigh -- one that, honestly, is pretty much reserved just for arya at this point]

[ in fact, she glares at one whose tentacle-like vines have been trying to reach her for the better part of half an hour. ]

And you're not planning to blow anything up?

[ sees her giving that plant a look -- and she'll squint at it for a moment, making it shrink back a little bit. yeah, you better behave, plant 8| ]

Because that'd be a better thing to do outside.

No. [ she looks downright offended. ] I'm not stupid.

[ she gives her back to ino as she gathers everything into a pile. ]

[ groans ]

Whatever, if you want to be a brat, I don't care. If you break anything, we're going to have a problem, that's all.

[ she relaxes a little once arya replies -- after all, if Arya's willing to treat her civilly, then Ino will do the same for her ]

[ she'll turn to leave, but pauses, remembering something -- and a little smirk appears on her face ] Nice swearing, by the way. [ and she does mean that -- she wasn't expecting something like that to come out of arya's mouth ]

[ that's an odd thing to be complimented on. but the corners of arya's lips still turn up. ]

[ not feeling like she's about to be ratted out, arya pulls aside a scroll with tight, cramped writing. her eyes roam over the lines again. ]

He had the foulest mouth you'll ever hear. But if you asked him nice, he'd give you extra bread. All the others would give you was the back of their hand.

[ she's curious about the scroll, but she makes no move to pry or look over her shoulder ]

[ she says it as lightly as she would mention someone passing her on the road. ]

[ or rather the mention of jaqen did. the memory of jaqen makes her sad. she wonders if he would like this place. ]
