[ not yet dawn and arya is already awake. bored of waiting for robb to wake, she pokes his cheek. ]

Robb. Robb. Can I wake up now? Robb, can I wake up? Ro-obb!


accidental dictation; action for the ballroom;
[ though she managed to escape robb's supervision, arya is not alone. a gray wolf pup with golden eyes darts constantly between her legs. robb told her the pup's name is nymeria and arya loves her already. grey wind follows both. he assigned himself as their guard, and has been growling in warning at anyone who might come close. ]

Stop it. You're being silly.

[ arya chastises him after one time too many. she has been trying to make winterfell out of pillows and blankets. all she needs to do is ask the air and she gets as many pillows as she may want. she has already got the double walls done, and is trying to figure out how to make the great hall stay up. but grey wind continues interrupting.

she puts her hands on her hips and narrows her eyes at the offending beast. he huffs and bumps her. not expecting it, she falls. nymeria yelps, barely getting out of the way. arya sits stunned on the floor before rounding on grey wind. ]

Grey Wind, you stupid! I almost fell on Nymeria! No, don't kiss me now. I don't want— Don't— [ the rest is lost in a fit of giggles. ]

[ his eyes follow the pup's gaze to his sister climbing over the countertop. feet are in motion before words can form in his mouth. ]

Arya. [ he grabs her by the waist, swiftly and gently hoisting her up off the counter and returning her to the floor. ] Don't do that, you could've hurt yourself.

[infanta]

But—a bowl! I need a bowl!

[wolfskin]

Let me get it. [ with her feet on solid ground he does just that, pulling out a bowl for arya to use and handing it to her. ] Here.

[infanta]

[ she points to the sink. ]

Fill it with water.

[wolfskin]

[ to the sink then, he fills the bowl with water then turns to face her and placing it on the floor. ]

Nymeria.

[infanta]

No! I want to do it!

[ she picks up the bowl, some water sloshing over the sides, and sets it down again. ]

There. Nymeria.

[ she crouches by the pup as she drinks, running her hand down nymeria's back. ]

[wolfskin]

[ robb bites back a laugh, watching the pup trot over and laps up the water. arya softly petting her fur. ]

She listens well.

[infanta]

Does Father know? I want him to see her! Do you think Mother will let her sleep with me?

[wolfskin]

[ his expression drops and he swallows thickly. ]

Arya... [ it feels cruel to say this, truly it does. ] Mother and Father, they are not here.

[infanta]

[ some of the enthusiasm drops from her face. ]

Will they come visit?

[wolfskin]

[ he hasn't the heart to deny her, so he nods. ]

Aye, they will soon.

[infanta]

I can show them my pup then, right?

[ she blinks up at robb sounding hopeful. ]

[wolfskin]

Aye, you can.
