It cannot translate Mermish. What a shame. I had hoped to share a poem I once read on a stone underwater. Clearly that will not be possible.

I do apologize if I startled anyone. Mermish is a curious language. It is most unpleasant on the ears above water and yet it is almost lyrical once you join the Mermaids in their natural environment.

No, not at all! I just - is that really Mermish? We don't have any mermaids where I'm from, at least, none that I'm aware of, so even if we did, I'd never expect it to sound like that above water...

I would not lie. I respect the Mermaid community far too much to use my knowledge of them to injure their image. However, yes, that is the way their language sounds to human ears above water.
