[ Today Gary is in something of a reflective mood today. He'll just be sat in the library surrounded by books on mythological creatures. He might have used them to slaughter hundreds of teenagers over the years but there has always been something fascinating about them. Befriending Mal and talking with Dumbledoor have got him thinking though.]

Hello class.

One of the many things I've noticed during my five months at Casa di Wonderfuck is the many variations on "Monsters" or what supposedly makes a monster.

Ok for those who don't know what the fuck I'm on about...In some worlds vampires are creatures of the night that live in big fuck off castles and like to drain the blood of Innocent virgins that run around showing way more cleavage then they probably should. Yet in others they're upstanding members of society who have civil service jobs and are a benefit to the community.

I'll give another example...mermen. In some worlds mermen are savage beasts who live only to drag sailors to a bloody violent death and yet in other worlds they have their own societies and language.

I guess what I'm saying is my stay here is helping me to redefine my term monster.

How do you guys define monsters? And can you give any specific examples of them from your homeworlds?

It is easier to say that I know a thing than it is to explain why it is that I know it.

Over and over again, I have seen detectives and cops be taken in by some hoax set up by criminals. Every single time it was proven to be wrong.

So what? Every phenomenon you've ever seen has been false so therefore you guess all of them must be false?

No, because I'm a detective I only believe in what can be proven.

So...that's like an actual thing?

It's not just a title you've just given yourself...like when I called myself Time magazines "actual man of the year"?

Of course its a thing! Elementary school detective just means I'm an detective and I'm in first grade.

I mean is it a title officially recognised by the elementary school?

Right ok...I think I went through the same phase when I was your age.

I think I was an astronaut or something like that.

[Zombies, Ghouls and ghosts being real? Sure.

An elementary school kid being an actual detective? Yeah right!]

[Conan hated it when people took this attitude toward him. Even though, logically, he was safer when people discounted him as just another kid. It still hurt his pride as a detective that hardly anyone took him seriously.]

Detectives and astronauts are completely different things.

Well yeah but it's still make believe right? A bit of harmless fun.

Because at home I helped Uncle and the police solve cases!
