[The castle has really got to stop with this turning York into a toy business. It's starting to get annoying.]

What the hell is everyone talking about? Did something happen? I've been, uh, out of it for a couple weeks. Anyone mind giving me a hand here?

Yes, well, unfortunate to be thrust right into it, but you know, welcome to Paradisa.

You are preaching to the choir. Waiting while people prepare, it really is beyond the pale. Which beggars your next question I should think: why am I still here?

Wild horses wouldn't stop me; wild insect like creatures like those seen in Terre Haute however, even I'm not that reckless.

I've a strong suspicion that's what they're up against. In the message, he called them Collectors and described them as alien. Sound remotely familiar?

[He doesn't want to push the Doctor to fight, but there's a hell of a lot more he can do to help. Like being support.]

Oh! And do you have a good medical kit for out there?

It would be foolish for anyone to attempt to go ahead alone.

And by equipment you mean weapons. [He pauses. He abhors violence and will work to avoid it ever beginning when he can. That doesn't mean that's always successful or that he's a stranger to fighting. The Daleks know he's not.]

You know I'll help to defend people where I can, but you know, I don't know of anyone that tried to ask the creatures what they really wanted, or why.

We can certainly stock up on items from the clinic in the castle or in town. I've, er, been kind of taking shifts at the one in town the last few weeks...

Does it count if I have Carolina with me?

Well, not necessarily weapons. Equipment. Like health packs, shields, biofoam, radio--anything that might help.

[He pauses.]

Besides, we didn't exactly have time to ask them what they wanted before they started trying to kill us last time.

[He sighs and wipes a hand over his face.] That type of equipment. Yes, yes of course, and thank you.

[He has to pause as well.] I saw a lot of killing, but not from them. They wanted us.

I know. I know. But it would be worse to get there too late. [The last thing he wants to see is another town destroyed--one he'd lived in, if only for a week.]

I'll bring what I have across the hall. Let me know if you want any pointers with any of it.

[And York snorts.] They sure did a number on Zeke and Nancy's town. Not something I want to get taken by, if you know what I mean. Did you see what happened there?

[He hears your frustration, York, and feels the exact same.] I know. But we do have to ensure the safety of our own. [Including you, York.]

Thank you, York. I will. But I'll come to you, if you do not mind.

I hear you loud and clear. The settlement... I saw only from a distance. I was... [A sigh. So much for being cautious and safe yes?] I was on the ship that came down, at the time. I know there weren't many survivors. What happened?

Well, sure, no problem. Just knock first. [It's not like the Doctor is terribly far away, being across the hall and all.]

I--it wasn't pretty. The village tried to defend itself, but they were almost completely wiped out. They had some defensive armor, but it was destroyed and their power crystals smashed. I--we offered to help clean up, but they--Nancy and Zeke, that is--they didn't want any of it.

[He listens and nods, his tone thoughtful and thinking of things he has seen in the past.] I can well imagine.

Were the group thought of as hostile to Paradisa? As Zeke and Nancy are? People call them so for what they did. It's not a stretch that they wouldn't take any help.

Honestly, I have no idea who else was in the group. But at least one of them was hostile, yeah. They had armor a little bit like mine that they stole from Tony Stark and implanted with power crystals so it would work out there, and they'd threatened us that we should never invade their territory or they'd kill us on sight.

Without specifying what their territory was, of course.
