How do you guys get used to talking into a book? I feel crazed.

[ There's a long pause. Yeah this is weird. ]

Man, I miss phones. Regular old corded phones. Or the funny ones, like that one shaped like a hamburger. I always wanted one of those.

[ And another long pause. How do I journal. ]

Right. This has officially gone past insane and into awkward.

That's for sure. We definitely didn't have food popping in from out of nowhere back home.

Christ, I wish we did. I've spent the past week here alternating between eating, sleeping and trying not to puke up everything I ate. It's great.

If I didn't make it clear before, yeah. A pandemic crippled the human species twenty years ago. Those of us still kicking don't exactly have an easy time of it.

I'm sorry. I can't imagine what that must be like. I mean, I can imagine, but it probably doesn't live up to the reality.

Back home? Well, everything's fully functional but we still freak out about the flu every year.

Yep. Pandemics don't mean everything else stops, unfortunately.

There isn't much that can make everything else stop. It's kind of comforting and kind of horrible at the same time.
