So, the aliens haven't made it out here to the towns yet. Some people are heading back already, but me and some others are going to stick here for a little while until they have a better defensive perimeter set up.
These guys are from that Draconis place, the one that the plague came from--they're all safe now, but their journals don't talk to ours so they have to use another way like radio. I'm going to help the leader guy here set up a radio tower or two so we can all keep in touch, and they're going to try to settle here for a while. Anyone back at the castle have any farming experience? Might be a good chance for you. Or, hell, anyone who wouldn't mind ferrying out a bit of livestock for them to use as starter.
It's about time we had a group of friendlies out here, and I want to make sure they stick around.

Might have to give you a rain check on that dinner, but next week?

[She's in a pretty dark place mentally right now, and if York can even find her for that rain check it'll be a miracle.]

[She may not think she wants any company, but York's of the opinion that he owes her this much at least.]
no subject
[The problem being she doesn't know what she wants right now. She doesn't want to be around people that are going to remind her of North, but she certainly doesn't want to be alone.]
no subject
[yeah right like that's gonna happen]
no subject
[Nope. Really this is an excersize in doing the direct opposite of 'taking care of herself'.]

[And a birthday party, and a laugh every once in a while...Come on, South, it's called being friends.]
no subject
Okay, fine. I'll let you know when I'm up to it.
no subject
All right. But if I don't hear from you in two weeks, I'm going to catch up to you anyway.

[That's kinda what she did with him, wasn't it? The alcohol was just an excuse to check on him.] It's just -- in the end nothing matters, he's still dead and it's still my fault.
no subject
I don't know about that. Carolina's alive--Tucker even said so [not that he's the most reliable witness, ahem] and she should have died when the ship crashed.
no subject
[Something she generally tried to forget, and now that she's brought it up she's regretting it. She growls in frustration and there's the flick of a lighter as she lights up a cigarette.] Forget it. Forget it. I don't want to talk about it anymore.
no subject
[The castle won't get rid of him so easily.]
no subject
That's anticlimactic.
no subject
Course, I suppose it's just as well. And we did get some good information out of it.

Their journals are a different format than ours, but I'm going to help them set up a radio tower here so we can communicate more reliably.
no subject
[That's nice to hear. And now he might actually have a reason to use that radio that's been collecting dust in his closet.]
We'd all be interested in hearing a summary, eventually.
[More importantly, he would. Of the information, not the trip.]
no subject
[He's not the only one who would like a summary of all the information. Maybe someone else will collect it, but if they don't--York will be right there with Dr. Brewer anyway.]
I'll see what we can come up with.

Oh, and you might want to keep an ear out for Mark's next broadcast. It should be really interesting, if you take my meaning.
no subject
I'll make a note of it. Good to have a reason to actually use the thing again.
no subject
And I'll keep you guys up to date if anything else interesting happens out here.
no subject
[A pause.]
And on the settlement. If anything goes wrong, presumably.

Other updates wouldn't be amiss either, though. General livability, sustainability. How frequently they get visitors, friendly or otherwise.
no subject
[Because if you want something done right, you better do it yourself.]
York
Church
York to end
LEONARD Church to end
...I mean perseverance. Yeah.
no subject
You're confusing me and Tucker.
no subject
One thing, though. South is still back there with you guys, and...she doesn't sound so good.
no subject
[Because he knows she isn't going to be at the Castle. He's going to check there anyway just to be sure. Not that he rushed back to the Castle because of that or anything... total coincidence.]
no subject
[Nah, clearly he just wanted to check up on York's pets. Right?]
