[Holodeck Filter]
Now that most of you are back from your little away mission...
[There might be some annoyance there, maybe at the fact that he couldn't go, or that everyone up and left. Who knows. Best not to call him out on it.]
The processing computer is now fully functional to Federation standards. All that needs to happen now is the holo-emitters built, placed and linked.
Trust me. That's the easy part.
Everyone able, please report to the holodeck as soon as possible. Let's get this task over with, shall we?

Helping is strictly voluntary, but this project will go alot quicker with more people.

--By the way, who is this?

[A pause.]
I am the troubleshooting program of the diagnostic matrix for the Emergency Medical Holographic system, created by the Federation's lead on holo-programming, Dr. Lewis Zimmerman.
I also happen to be in his image. So, Dr. Zimmerman will suffice.

--A subroutine with a whole different personality? Impressive. Well, nice to meet you, Dr. Zimmerman.

[Seems awfully...well, final.]

Although, I was rushed. It makes sense that some of my program would exist within the EMH's, but not enough to recompile me entirely, I wouldn't have thought.

[No AI York knew would be, but then, he's aware that things are different between different worlds.]

[The doc's tone is dry enough to get his point across.]
The EMH was Voyager's only medical staff. Granted, a full re-initialisation of his program would have done the same, but he was only designed to be an emergency supplement. The graft extended his operational lifespan so he wouldn't need to be wiped clean and restarted every few months.
[And he's not going to mention how Kes sweet-talked him into agreeing.]

Not that I'm saying it wasn't necessary, because I don't know the situation. It just seems--I don't know, extreme. Not a sacrifice everybody would be willing to make.

Besides, I'm just a diagnostic matrix. I did my function by ensuring the EMH ran smoothly.
[A pause.]
If you're worried my non-existant rights were infringed, might I remind you that I technically don't exist?

I mean, if it was your own free choice, I suppose that's okay. Just seems odd to me.
