[Yosuke is the most fun person. Like it is appalling the amount of non stop fun this kid engages in. It's always upbeat music this, random flailing activities that, and an endless string of 'duuuuude'.

So it's really no surprise he's engaging in the most exciting activity there is. Stretching out on the castle steps, supported on his elbows, headphones up with music loud enough to hear it from 10 paces away and...

Watching metaphorical tumble weeds go by. You know you want in on this]

[He was walking out of the castle to head into the city when he hears that music, turning to look....]

[And looking UTTERLY confused when he sees it coming out of that annoying guy's...head with a weird headband thing? ]

[It sounds a little something like this, because he is very invested in blowing out his ear drums.

Still, he's spend enough time in the TV world to catch movements out of the corner of his eye, and despite all appearances, music has always improved his focus. So he just turns his head to view Zelos, pulling aside one earphone]

[Looking at him with a raised eyebrow]

What is that noise and why is it coming from your head? [Or the earpiece rather, but details]

[A pause and he pulls them off entirely, wheeling down the volume considerably] They're headphones. They attach to the mp3 player here, and transmit sounds.

Whatever, it doesn't sound like music to me.

[He looks at them.] And a mp3 is music...?

You don't have any taste.

[He shakes his head, and sighs] It's for storage. Like...A fridge! But for music. It holds all kinds of songs.

Based on everyone I've spoken to here so far, that sounds easier said than done. No one seems sure there even is a way out.

I suppose. We did what needed to be done in Inaba. There's nothing pressing I need to get back to. I guess I'm thinking of this place as an unexpected vacation. Then again I haven't really experienced the worst this place has to offer.

[Shiki's heading back from work at the WildKat, passing by Yosuke, when she realizes that the music that's there... that's all coming from him, not from inside, like she had originally thought. She pauses on her way up into the lobby and looks at him.]

You know your music's on way too loud, right?

[...She says, way too quietly.]

[He squints a little funny, and says loudly, in a completely illogical way, because even if he shouts loud enough to hear his muffled voice through the music, he'll never hear the return answer]

[Oh, hello there, much louder than necessary reply! Shiki wasn't expecting you! She practically jumps out of her skin at his response, and then, after taking a deep breath to get herself together again, thinks for a second and then points to her ears, where earphones would be on her own head, and then mimes turning down a volume dial in front of her. Charades: Truly, the clearest of ways of getting one's point across.]

Actually important.

[Or well he thinks he'd place it in that category, even if it's wrong. And if Sherlock disagrees, well he'll just close his journal and Yosuke knows he can stop worrying about it. It's a win/win. But he knows not to waste time getting around it, and he doesn't want to. So! Serious voice]

Let's run with the magic castle theory, it's not as impossible as it sounds. Would you say it wouldn't be hard to make people...Different over time? Not like the changes.

Only the oldest residents want to stay here. [And people with really shitty home planets, but he labels them as exceptions] Do they really just like the people here that much, that they don't want to leave them? Or...Are were they made...complacent?

[Good choice. Way too many people here are happy to beat around the bush until he dies of boredom.

He doesn't interrupt (which is a good sign in and of itself) and then he's quiet for a few extra seconds after Yosuke is done. When he does finally speak, though, he sounds... actually pleased!]

Interesting theory. Any evidence, or is this just your gut talking?

I think it'd be pretty easy to grab evidence for it, if it's something that's possible. Is it?
