[ it takes robb some time to really open the journal and properly address it, when he does his tone is even and steady displaying nothing of what sits upon his mind. ]

I have a question for those experienced in magics and other such sorcery, should you be willing to indulge a king in his queries. I wish to know about men who possess the ability to enter the minds of animals, in my land they are known as wrags or skinchangers. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

[ and he is done. ]

Entering the mind of anything, 'warg' or 'skinchanger' is unknown to me. Those who can hear the words of creatures, either through their ears, or mind, is familiar. If this is of any interest, despite being different.

Assumed as much. It is the knowledge that I have that is .. vaguely related.

They really come up with colorful names where you're from.

I think I'd come up with something else if I were them.

[He probably shouldn't say the first thing that comes to mind.]

'Poor bastards' might be more appropriate.

[King, huh? Hm...]

As opposed to turnin' into one?

Then I can't help ya. Where I come from, skinwalkers can change back and forth, not Khan Worm their way into somethin' else's brain.

D'be curious to know more 'bout those myself, though. Wargs, you said?

[Stories, huh? Dean's seen enough to know that stories have power.]

But you think they're true.

If you would claim power, you have my allegiance.

[ Short and sweet. ]

But gratitude is not what we need, simply a good and kindly king.

Yes. Are you not?

[ Well, Remus certainly knows a thing or two about entering the mind of a beast. He does it once every month, after all. Arya has also told him about skinchangers and there are people from his world who can gain the ability to transform into an animal.

He'll not likely tell Robb about his Lycanthropy, though.
]

Arya has told me about those and there are similar abilities in my own world, though it is very rare and very difficult to use them.
There is a rare ability that allows people to talk to snakes as well. They are known as Parselmouths.
lupinotuum: (huh?)

[personal profile] lupinotuum 2013-10-26 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. Parselmouths aren't very common and I can only think of one notable Wizard who had that very same ability off the top of my head.
[ Salazar Slytherin, to be precise. ]

There are also Wizards who can gain the ability to change into an animal. We call them Animagi. They generally only turn into one type of animal, though. Like a Dog or a Rat or a Stag.

[ Well, he knows quite a lot about this now, doesn't he? He's bonded with a magical horse and he spent years amongst a group of people who bonded with giant birds of prey. And he did mean giant, all of them were over-sized. ]

I suppose that depends on what, precisely, you are wanting to know. I have some dealing with such people, though they were exclusively with birds.

Well, I can tell you some of the Tayledras. I lived with them a number of years, though I am not a "skinchanger" as I think you mean. They bonded with large birds of prey and the birds could communicate mind to mind with them and according to my teachers a few could even see through the eyes of their birds.
