[ Anyone out by the pond will hear that frustrated shout, and see a young man struggling to get to the edge of the pond. Either he can't swim terribly well, or he's weighed down by something, because his head keeps going under once in a while. ]

Lucile may have overlooked the book-assassination attempt, but a pond poses real danger, I don't want-

Whatever the young man had been about to continue saying is cut off with the sound of a lot of wet cloth and a body flopping down. By the splash marks, Sion had made it next to the journal. ]

.... This isn't any of my courtyards. .... And what is that pink thing....?

[ Said 'pink thing' is the giant squid, which is waving lazily at him. ]

[Chell's out by the pond, feeding the ducks... Per usual on a wonderful day like this when oh hey! A guy just materialized in the pond. Huh. She can't say she's not surprised, even after over a year of living here. As soon as he's out of the pond, she walks over, her journal in hand. There's a message written on it, and she holds it in front of his nose.]

The pink thing is a squid. Are you all right?

[ Oh, a book. That stops him from sitting up past resting on his elbows. He has to blink a few times, hair clinging to his face and in the way of his eyes, before he looks to who holds the book. Its an assumption, but seems like the right idea to address her. ]

... Squids come in pink?

[ His smile is a little uneasy, but still rather like a smile one would expect from a sweet kid. Well, late teen or young adult. Sion is clearly not a child. ]

I'm confused, but alive, which falls under 'all right'. ... I think.

[She smiles back and writes again.]

In Paradisa they do. Anything's possible here.

[She shoots the pond a look as if she wishes sometimes that ANYTHING WERE NOT possible here... Then as an afterthought.]

Not your world, or mine. That implies multiple worlds in the first place. Well, Asruld more or less confirmed that, even if Sion wasn't quite sure how, but this would be more worlds that weren't ... connected. This... he wasn't sure how to take.

[ Sion isn't aware about weirdly either way for temperature, so he blinks about. He'll just push himself up again and blink at her. Whoever she is, she looks oddly like Keifer. Well, without the red eyes. ]

[ He's wearing way to much clothing to have planned to swim in the pond. ]

Very. It allows you to communicate with others, in both speech and writing. It also allows you to make filters to them. For example... like this.

He takes it, and its with a great deal of sodden cloth noises that he gets to his feet. Sorry for the soggy hand, the odd gloves he wears aren't any better off. ]

And then I was in the pond.

[He is making his way to the town clinic when he hears the shout. Stopping and pin-pointing where it came from, the Doctor runs on over. Someone seems to be having difficulty with that pond, don't they, and he holds out a hand to help him up.]

Are you all right? Typically, people practise their breaststroke in the swimming pool, inside.

[ The man's words confuse him just as much as his clothing. Sion accepts the help, however uncomfortable his soaked gloves are in that grasp. ]

[ Sorry, Sion's having trouble imagining a place to swim that isn't a river or an ocean. ]

Nope. It can also be things like "Filtered to everyone who has ever gotten here in an odd way." or "Filtered to people who don't like chicken." et cetera. Or "Filtered to friends."

[ Sion fortunately doesn't need much help staying steady, compensating for all the wet, heavy cloth rather quickly.

Sion smiles - and it really looks like the smile of a good kid. If just a confused one. ]

Once knew of someone who filtered to "Everyone who doesn't like hamburgers" as a test and discovered there were several people who didn't.
