So I have to figure in a place like this that can dish out horror whenever it wants and isn't exactly restricted by things like dates, Halloween must either be extra terrible or just another day.

[She's really not looking forward to how you could top weird floating men who steal your voice before they cut your heart out, but she's also pretty damn sure there's no getting around some sort of creepy castle version of Halloween.]

Anyone have any tips for a newbie on what to expect tomorrow? Stories about what happened last year, maybe? I'd like to be at least a little prepared.

Uhhh. Last year... a bunch of people got turned into kids. The year before that nothing really spooky happened. I think the ghosts turned all real, and that was weird, but... [One can almost hear the super blasé shrug.]

And the year before that, there was candy corn everywhere.

So it doesn't exactly take the day off, but it does cut us some slack. That's great to hear.

... I mean unless the candy corn sprouted arms and tried to murder people.

Yeah, no, it usually doesn't do super traumatic stuff on Halloween. Probably too predictable...

And nah, it wasn't murderous. It was just annoying.

Actually, no, don't answer that. I really wouldn't be surprised at all if it got weirder than that.

Sounds like Halloween is generally pretty quiet, so maybe weird costumes is the only thing we've got to worry about. What'd you get?

If I remember, last year it turned us all into kids in costumes and bugged us into going trick-or-treating. The concept of Halloween is still odd to me. You're right. There's not any way to avoid it. I wish there was. I'm nervous about what it's gonna do to me.

I never really gave it too much thought before I came here, but your right. Halloween is kind of a weird thing to the people who haven't grown up with it, but it's just so normal for some of us. Were you not allowed to celebrate it?

I grew up in a science laboratory, as a test subject. So I know practically nothing about any of the holidays.

But I know a little more now. And Ben taught me how to carve a Jack-o-lantern. So, I know a teeny bit about Halloween.

I figure there are probably worse ways to wake up. I'll take this if it means nothing else horrible happens.

Typically you need more than that to fend of the kinds of monsters that are in those stories. A strong will isn't going to help me if a walker decides it wants me for its next meal, but a bullet to the head? That's a pretty damn good weapon.
