The number 249 is not divisible by 2
[There's the sound of pages turning, not from the main journal, but from one a short distance from this open one. Crowley has to wonder how many residents still even HAVE an old journal. Not many, he bets. Really, it doesn't bother him as much as he should, his newly found factoid. The passing of time is of little consequence to him. Still, it should probably be said, so after a moment, he deigns to speak]
It managed to pass me completely by, but I've passed the five year mark, living here now. Small change, really, but still something. [A few more pages turning] I think I'm the longest serving resident here, now.
...Thought I'd at least get a little trophy for that. Perhaps a commemorative plate. But nothing. Way to be cheap, Paradisa.

Aye, I can say that they are.
[ He loved one, after all, even if that current relationship was... nonexistent. He was not a fool. He knew Felix had moved out of the Castle and he had his suspicions of where, but he wasn't here to grill Crowley about such things. ]
Do you like the wine?
[ Finely manicured brows rose up, sipping the rich liquid. ]
I remember when I first drank this I nearly got drunk off a glass.

[Crowley could sense that unasked question, hovering in the air between them, but chose not to answer it. This, all of this, was Felix's business, not his own. It was up to the wizard to talk about it, if he so desired]
Wine is one of the finest things you can have. [A soft chuckle] But perhaps it takes some getting used to, for some.

For a small boy? Yes, it took a bit of getting used to. I only drank the full glass because I did not want to be embarrassed before the nobles, but I did that just fine drinking it all anyways.
[ He laughed at the memory, a warm one before his father's passing. ]
I have a fair bit more of a tolerance now than before.

I wanted to impress my father's men. I was fifteen, foolish, and my father a bit to eager to teach me a lesson in indulgence.
[ HIs mouth quirked, the memory obviously fond. ]

I hear the follies of youth can lead a person to do the most foolish of things.
no subject
And what foolish things did you do in your youth then, Crowley? There must be a tale or two to come from that.
no subject
I was never young.

[ He is quiet a moment, seeing the dark that crosses his face, the way he threw back the glass of wine. He cast his eyes down, staring into the dark of his own glass. ]
Apologies. I did not mean to upset you, Crowley.
no subject
Didn't upset me at all. [It's a lie, but it's an easy one to tell]
no subject
[ Ah, they were all so good at lying, weren't they? To themselves and everyone else.
Ashura grabbed another glass as well, sipping and considering the fruity tang of the drink before setting it down on the table. ]
This will be my fourth snow to have seen in the flesh, and my fourth Christmas.

Too much, in my opinion, regardless of the number.

Hahaha. My world, my country that is, it was to hot for it to snow. We got somewhat cool in what passed for winter, but not snow. I knew what it looked like from paintings and descriptions, but I had never truly experienced it until I came here.

Heh, am I? I think I might agree with you - the winter weather doesn't ever sit well with me.

Haha, you are a warm blooded fellow too? Ah, but that's a silly question is it not?
[ His eyes give a little glint. Yes, he was trying to do a double entendre here. ]

I think that could be argued.
[ He waved to the waiter and another glass of wine was brought over, this one almost purple than red. ]
But we're getting into details, aren't we? Celebrations aren't for details.

They can be, especially when making deals.
[ he shook his head, not wanting to go into that either and considered the bar. ]
Fives years... it seems impossible.
