  It is almost hard to believe that it will be Christmas soon again.

Where do you come from?

Someplace pretty ordinary, compared to the places I've heard people talk about. I come from planet Earth and live in New York City- only in my world, we have nothing supernatural. No magic, no superheroes, nothing like that.

Goodness, I've never been to America. I have an Uncle in Ohio, but that's rather far away from New York I think.

Sometimes, I think there is something special about the ordinary. That's how most people live, isn't it?

Yeah, it's a pretty fair distance. I've been all over the place for book tours myself.

Most of us are pretty ordinary. We read the extraordinary in stories, but... you have a point. The magic in everyday life can be easy to overlook.

It is like that in my world as well, in a way. Oh, there is magic. Very much magic indeed. But most people who live in my world would never know it was there. They would say it is nothing more than folklore and half-forgotten stories for children. And that is the way it should be, really.

And you know, it could be that way in my world, too- I'd just never know, since I and everyone else I know is mundane. Makes you think.

I suppose. I'm from the other side of it, really. The half-forgotten side.
