second twist of the coil
[There's the sound of a bored sigh and the audible pop of a wine bottle being opened in the background before Tesla starts to speak, his tone as lax as ever.]
Yeah, so, what, we had a world change or something recently? Honestly, I didn't really notice...I was too busy getting acquainted with the local culture. And by "local culture", I mean "all those wonderful sources of alcohol in the form of wine". The hangover was totally worth it, I haven't had a chance to get drunk like that in years...
[And there's the sound of pouring. His wine addiction is highly underestimated, really, it is.]
So, I'm a little bored. Totally not obvious, I know. [A pause.] Why don't all of you, I don't know, tell me a fun fact of trivia? Like the fact that honeybees have hair on their eyes, or that your small intestine is actually six meters long. I mean, I know a lot, so I don't think there will be many facts that surprise me, but go ahead.
Make my day.

How can bees have hair on their eyes? How can they even see?
[Yes, that's the thing to focus on here]

But they're still eyes. They need to be clear to see, that's how they work.
[Fuck you and your science]

Fun fact of trivia ey? Well girls often got a very overprotective brother or several of them. That's something I've learned.
no subject
[And a chuckle.] That's not a fact as much as an assumption. I know several women who don't have any brothers at all. That's like saying "oh, birds often can fly". It's silly.
no subject
That was the best I could manage. [Shrugs.] Just a bit of fun trivia. Thankfully that's not my problem any more.
no subject
Ever thought of, I don't know, checking that girls don't have brothers before you propose a relationship?
no subject
Back then there was only a few girls to chose from and all of them had brothers so I had no choice.
Why are you so interested?

Voice
How about the fact that in ancient China, mirrors were believed to protect their owners from evil, making hidden spirits visible and revealing the secrets of the future? A person who had been scared by a ghost could apparently be healed by looking in the mirror.
voice forever and ever
Ah, superstitious stuff. It is kind of fascinating, though a lot of it doesn't really do much good. And mirrors seem to be a common theme in several cultures...though be careful, we don't want to give Paradisa ideas.

But you know I do so love a good superstitious tale. It does speak volumes about the silliness of human nature and the need for every act to have a reason.
no subject
It really does, yes. Goodness knows all the ridiculous things that have come up in those things. Like garlic being used to ward off vampires, really?
