[Dictated] Equius: Remember your gift
To the person that gave me the piece of literature on Human etiquette, you have my gratitude for at least trying. I will strive to memorize the book.
And, now that the castle has returned to its normal [He says "normal" with a hint of sarcasm.] state, I believe it is time ot move on as always.
[Locked to Nepeta]
Nepeta, I would wish to speak with you at your earliest convenience. There is something I must do that I had previously forgotten.
[Also, he kind of wants to apologize.]

EQUIUS
[She hasn't done anything to warrant a scolding, or so she hopes!]

I suppose you're the one who bequeathed it to me?
NEPETA
[It's not a scolding! For once.]
EQUIUS
[>Action]
[And the journal is shut and Equius sets out. The castle, in all its strangeness, was not getting easier for him to navigate. Luckily though, he finally arrives at what he believes to be the right room and he looks in, immediately noting the bowls of food and water scattered around the floor.
No scolding right now. He reminded himself and cleared his throat.]
Nepeta?
no subject
Come in! Excuse the mess. I knew I wasn't gonna have time to clean up before you got here so I didn't bother.
no subject
[Nope. Scolding will have to come later.
Equius makes his way in, one hand suspiciously behind his back.]
I see you are well, Nepeta. Despite the... circumstances the castle put us in earlier.
no subject
We've handled worse. And with you around, even the really weird things aren't so bad. So what did you wanna talk about?
no subject
[He trails off, rather confusedly. How ids he supposed to say this?]
It has come to my understanding that we just passed the human holiday that centers around gift-giving and camaraderie.
[With that said, he produces a small box, stained slightly with oil and wrapped in a slightly torn bow.]
As such, I thought it might have been appropriate...

You got me a purrsent? [And then her expression changes to worry.] But I didn't even get to finish yours yet!
no subject
I was also... pressed to finish it sooner as a way to... apologize.
no subject
no subject
Apologize? Why would you do a thing like that?
no subject
Because of our temporary moment of... flushed affection a few weeks earlier.
I believe I am to blame for it.
no subject
Ohhhhh.
Her cheeks turn a shade of green that she tries to ignore and play off as nothing. The contagious kissing is always pretty embarrassing, but it's something she's used to by now. But even then, it's still pretty awkward to kiss your best friend.]
No no! You're not to blame! That was the castle! It does that every year and it's really pawkward to deal with. You didn't do anything wrong!
no subject
[He held out the box to her, the shade of indigo on his face betraying his serious demeanor.]
Accept this human-holiday package as my apology. I order you.
no subject
I guess I can't disobey a meowrail order, can I? Thanks, Equius.
[She gives him her most genuine smile before she glances down at it curiously. She slowly starts to open it]
no subject
It wont be that hard to open the present. Equius is assuredly still not the most delicate of Trolls. He tried though, so he gets a star for that.
Oddly, the box seems to be kind of heavy, though in no way impossible for Nepeta to lift. It's likely with one pull of the ribbon that the whole thing opens.
Inside the box, curled up like it's asleep, is a cat.]
no subject
You made this for me?
[She hugs the box tight against her chest. She wants to pick it up, but it does appear to be sleeping and she doesn't want to wake it.]
no subject
Indeed. Admittedly, I started on it long before the holiday problems came upon us. It was good incentive to finish though.
I... presume you like it?
no subject
She looks at him and nods enthusiastically, all while trying to gingerly place the box on the floor. Her voice is lowered softly.]
I love it!
no subject
[Well, honestly he didn't need for her to tell him that she liked it, her expressions were enough. He just wanted to be sure, he supposed.]
It performs excellently in every capacity that a beast like it should. All that is missing... is a name.
no subject
When he mentions a name, though, she pulls back and looks as if in thought.]
Wait. Is it a boy kitty or a girl kitty?
no subject
He returns the hug as much as he can, which is to say barely, and he thinks on her question.]
I believe I used a female voice chip.
no subject
How about... Pouncess? It's like an homage to Pounce, but also a princess! But not one of those prissy ones. The really fierce kind, like a jungle princess or something.
no subject
It is your decision.
no subject
Can it do anything special?
no subject
Its claws are quite sharp, easily slicing through any foe. They are retractable of course, so you will not be harmed. It is also able to see in the dark without difficulty.
[The smiling face on his moirail made Equius feel quite a bit better than he had felt in a while.]
I am glad you like it.
no subject
You're the best moirail! And not just beclaws you built me the bestest best most purrfect purrsent, either.
no subject
You are very welcome, Nepeta. A morailligence as strong as ours requires no less a present of course.
I am glad you enjoy it.
