[Some time later, the residents are going to be regaled with the stunning commentary of one Mr Sherlock Holmes. I bet some of you are THRILLED.

His speech is fast and clipped, a little disjointed, like his brain is jumping from topic to topic too rapidly for his mouth to keep up. He's excited, though, and positively CHEERFUL. All of the chaos plus the feeling of the castle is just shy of overwhelming; it's a bit like a runner's high.]

Interesting. Isn't it? Curious. No, no, don't answer that. Wasn't a question. Sure the lot of you have managed to figure it out anyway.

[There's the high-pitched squeal of heavy furniture being dragged across hardwood, followed by a wet sort of thump. Sherlock sounds a little out of breath with glee.]

Oh, that's brilliant. [Then, directly to the journal:] Excuse me. Have an experiment to run. Castle has been so kind as to provide me with materials. Interesting ones, very interesting. And who am I to turn down an act of charity? [beat] Rhetorical, again.

[And if one didn't know better, he might almost sound sincere.]
