[ The sound of a heart monitor seems to come out of nowhere, at the same time an Englishwoman's voice does, her hand having knocked her journal off the bed in her sudden awakening. With a rushed gasp she speaks before her eyes even open, for any who might already be in the clinic, but open they do when she suddenly is unable to finish her prayer. ]

Lord God have pity on my—

[ A gurgle and cough is all that follows, then more silence outside of the heart monitor as Anne takes some time to realize where she is, one hand over her throat. She's confused, but says nothing else for the moment, gaze slowly lowering to see the journal on the floor.

Stretching to lean down, the woman flips the journal shut so all sound on her end is ceased, then hangs her head and clutches the rails on the bed with such a force her knuckles turn white. She must request her clothes proper, to get out of this hospital gown and to brush her hair, but first she must allow her memories, both of home and of here, to properly blend again.

Anne makes sure there are none else in the room before allowing herself to silently cry, though the door is not fully shut in any case. No doubt the ghosts have been taking care of her this far, she can only assume. It is fitting, now that she is one. ]

[ ooc; Open for anyone in the clinic and over the journal, but she won't respond over the journal until she's back in her castle room. ]

[And Nita will respond just as readily as if she had been waiting for a response. She's used to paying attention to book-based messaging systems, after all.]

We haven't. I guess I just don't like hearing people in trouble if I can do something about it. [Is it unusual that she was concerned? Maybe. It's also part of the job description.] My name's Nita Callahan.

[She's talked to aliens, faeries, and slid through time. Yet somehow this is still shocking. And she's not even the history buff; man, Kit would probably freak.]

[ Oh wait, what. She didn't even think before responding, or she wouldn't have said it that way for fear of choking again. But she said it. The castle let her say her title.

What does that mean? Her loss is gone? Now her own shock is keeping her from continuing on, but oh well it's fine to stop there, anyhow. ]

[Too surprised to pick up on Anne's surprise.]

Wow. [A pause] Sorry if that was rude, but you're pretty high up there on the list of people I never expected to meet. Kit's going to be so jealous.

I hope it is of a good nature.

[ Anne can never tell what she is notorious for to some; her crimes or her contributions. ]

[inlifesname]

It is. I mean, I don't know as much about history as I should, but you're still a pretty big deal in the future.

I am but a humble queen consort. Mean you for my daughter?

[inlifesname]

That's a big part of it, yeah. But there's been movies and stuff about you too.

[ensorceler]

That does not bode well.

[inlifesname]

Doesn't it? A lot of people would like to be remembered.

[ensorceler]

It would depend on what they are remembered for.

[inlifesname]

[Nita furrows her brow, trying to remember.] I'm probably not the best person to ask- or maybe I am, if you want to know what most people would remember. But there's your daughter, of course. And...the English Reformation? Is that right? [And, you know, being beheaded. But she's not going to bring that up.]

[ensorceler]

Our reformation is in thanks to His Majesty the King, and my daughter Elizabeth, who took it to grander heights than even either of us could have dreamed.

[inlifesname]

[Shrugs. Not that...Anne can see it.] I'm pretty sure I heard something about you having something to do with it. But hey, you'd know better than I would. [And what people say and what they know is not always the same. So she'll just leave it at that.]

[ensorceler]

I suppose I would, now that I have lived my life to completion.

[ Maybe an odd thing to say, but apparently this girl watched a movie on her. That's as bad as reading a book. Maybe worse, ew they had to pick an actress. ]

[inlifesname]

[Well. That rather changes things doesn't it?]

I'm sorry. [Can you offer someone condolences on their own death? It doesn't seem adequate, but she doesn't know how to react except to treat like any other loss.]

For what are you sorry?

That you've suffered. [a little pause] Would it make more sense to express my condolences?

[ensorceler]

Both are understandable, but unwelcome. I am at peace, and have suffered no more than any other man or woman striving to live in the embrace of Jesus Christ.
