[The castle always has something weird waiting on him when he gets back; it really shouldn't surprise a resident who has been around as long as Spike. This time, he's peering upwards as he steps out for a smoke, squinting for a long while before his voice is heard over the journal.]

So, did anyone else see a dragon on top of the castle lately? Or is that something we're not talking about?

[While Spike is watching, the dragon-like shape appears to shift around a little on the roof. Perhaps it's just an illusion? Then suddenly, she turns around to stare down at him.

[Spike has been watching the sky since he came out, all while burning through his cigarettes and talking to his open journal, just waiting to see if the thing will disappear if he blinks enough times. In hindsight, he should have considered the possibility that the dragon might be real and could see him just as well.

Belatedly, he waves. On the off chance that it is a resident, it's all he can do to make up for his staring. Someone really could have passed him a note about all this. What he gets for being considerate enough to step outside to smoke.]

[Firethroat blinks down at him. The wave seems to be a gesture of peace, though she has known humans to be conniving people, willing to give others a fault sense of security before stabbing them in the back. Trusting them too much was dangerous. He does not seem to be a knight though, which was a plus.

After some consideration, she spreads her wings and takes off from the roof. Circling a few times, she moves to land not far from where Spike is standing.]
