Second Flake [written]

[It's with a dark sort of humor that Elsa muses over how thankful she was that the creature she had run into a week prior had not torn off her dominant arm. It means she's not left even more useless than she is now. And it also means she can pen a note that she's been meaning to get out for the past few days, but with the lingering haze of pain and medication - and her sister's near-constant fretting - she never got a chance to until now.]

To those that helped me early last week, the hooded man and the clinic worker;

I cannot thank you enough for what you have done. The both of you saved my life after I was disfigured by that grotesque creature, and comforted my sister when I was unable to. Let it be known that the Queen of Arendelle is in your debt, and it is a price I know I will not be able to repay easily. If you are ever in need of my services, please, do not hesitate to call on me.

[... Well, she... wasn't expecting that. But Elsa, being the person that she is, can't bring herself to be offended, because if someone reacted that way, then something bad must have happened...]

... I'm sorry. Did someone...? [No Elsa, don't say it. Asking if someone close to this girl(?) died is unbelievably improper.] I didn't mean to upset anyone with that message.

Yeah, someone died, but that stupid blob got what was coming to it! [You can hear the smirk in her voice in spite of her not!mom dying from the thing.]

We tore that thing to shreds.

Good.

[Elsa's not the type to wish harm on or want to do harm to anyone. Even during her fight with the Duke's guards, she wasn't even consciously trying to hurt them; she just wanted to make them leave her alone. But that... thing... wasn't human, wasn't anything close to it, so she feels no remorse that it met a horrific end.]

With all the people it hurt... it deserved such a fate.

[She'll take that as a compliment!]

What happened to you?

[There's a pause before Elsa responds. It's not like her injury is something she can hide, but... it still stings a bit, admitting that she's been crippled in such a way. Things like that shouldn't happen to a queen.]

That beast tore my arm off with its bare hands. [God, even just talking about it is making her shoulder ache.]

[She pauses, taking it in. That sure is rough. She wonders if Molotov would have preferred that fate-- you know, over what looked like slowly asphyxiating and then falling into a semi-bloody heap. Hm.]

Well shit! So what, are you going to get a new one, or...

A... new one?

[A new arm? How? She's read stories of pirates with peg legs or hooks for hands, but entire limbs...] I lost everything below the shoulder. I don't think there's a way to make anything that would be of use to me.

That's funny, [IN A MATTER OF SPEAKING.] same thing happened to me forever ago! I just had a friend use their mad tech skills to make me one that would work in its place! That-- er, acquaintance is still around, but... well, really, anyone with weird abilities could probably throw one your way!

I'm sure they'll give you a hand! [RIMSHOT.]

[Gosh the people here say some strange things. Also she's just... going to ignore that joke...]

How can someone make me an entire arm?

{Is this someone who has no idea what she's talking about? Sure seems like it! How do you even speak in layman's terms...]

Tech! Like technology! When I lost my arm, someone made me something that was fully functional, but instead of flesh and bone, obviously, it was metal and wires powered by electricity!

[Ezio's handwriting is surprisingly formal compared to his cavalier attitude and menacing Assassin robes. Despite the impression he might give off from his actions, he is an educated man.]

I did not realize I was saving the life of a queen.

Rest assured I would not demand to be repaid; I am sure our paths will cross again. In the mean time, you may feel free to call upon me if you ever require my services.

[Well, it's hard to really assume anything about a person you met while you're already half-delirious from pain and blood loss. She wasn't really sure what to make of the man that saved her and brought her sister to the clinic (despite her wishes), but this seems to put her mind at ease a bit.]

... Are you sure? It feels a bit... backwards, to request help from you when you've already done so much for me.

I would not offer if I took issue with the arrangement.

[She was about to say that she didn't have need of a soldier, but... after what had happened with that creature, it was obvious she was wrong.]

Are we thrust into dangerous situations often enough that a soldier's services would be required?

[A chuckle, then more writing:]

No, no, not terribly often. I am a good aide in war's absence, as luck would have it. Whatever you need done, I will see what I can accomplish.

Hooded man, huh? [There are only so many.]

[A name she will be sure to never forget, after what he did for her.]

[That's her boy, rescuing queens and stuff. Get it, Ezio.]

Thought so. He's a good guy.

Oh, you know him?

He does seem like a good man... he even made sure my sister was safe, though I had no right to ask any sort of favor of him after he saved my life.

He's one of my best friends. You can count on him when it comes to stuff like that.

I have not heard of Arandelle, but I am most sorry that it's Queen suffered such a sorry reception by the castle. I am Anne Boleyn, Queen of England and former acting Regent of Paradisa, and I would do my utmost to make up for this realm's cruelty any manner I can.

Would you be able to describe this beast to me? Has it been well taken care of?

[Queen Anne? Elsa's heard of England, of course, but that name and title doesn't ring a bell. Perhaps this is another strange instance of the "different worlds" phenomenon people seem to mention often.]

Thank you for your concern, Queen Anne, but I assure you, nothing needs to be done. The residents here seem to speak of the castle itself as if it was an entity of its own, and that it is the one that is responsible for most of the odd things that go on... so unless you know of a way to punish it, I don't know if much can be done.

[There are a few dots peppered below this, likely Elsa tapping her pen on the page. Everything surrounding the time of her injury seems a bit hazy now, but she knows she'll never be able to forget what that beast looked like.]

It looked like... a plant or vegetable gone rotten, but with a human form. I suppose that would be like what a decomposing body looks like. [Elsa's normally neat and formal script begins to waver, just ever so slightly, as she writes.] It was far larger than a normal man as well, and horribly disfigured. And it was... very strong.

I have been told that it was dealt with, though, so that is a great comfort.

[ Different worlds, or simply different times, it's difficult to tell for Anne. Just because Anne hasn't heard of Arendelle (or even Arendal in Norway), she isn't about to assume the woman isn't from Earth. ]

The castle is a beast greater than any dragon to have existed, and if a witch was not responsible for summoning the creature that attacked you, it surely was. I am gladdened to hear the matter resolved and that no more will suffer an attack.

I believe the only manner to punish such a great entity is to abandon it to it's lonesome. But such a feat would be useless unless all souls within chose to abandon.

Which is very unlikely to happen, I think. I don't blame the other residents if they wish to stay... for a place that could be seen as just a glorified prison, I suppose it's not as bad as it could be, even with the bizarre things that happen here. Some might think the good outweigh the bad here.

I think that you ought to remain here a while longer before reaching such conclusions, Queen Elsa.

How many of royal blood are here, I wonder?

I've had met two other royals so far in my stay here. I have no doubt that there are more, just that I have not had the pleasure of speaking to them yet.

[Though he can't hear, Elsa gives a small sigh of relief. It'll be good to take a break from the rest of the serious talk.]

Well, I can't go talking about the secrets of how I run my kingdom, of course. But I'd like to think I can be open about most things.

[Even if his is a kingdom she's never heard of, she has to learn how to do this. Being open about her kingdom and her intentions is the only way to gain the trust back from many of the nobles she very likely upset during her temporary flight from Arendelle.]

I know you were simply doing your job, but even so. I want to be able to repay you somehow.

I feel as though saving your life and sparing your sister the pain of losing you was enough of a reward.

And that's precisely why I must repay you and Ezio however I can. I've... hurt my sister enough over the course of our lives. I didn't need to add this heartbreak on top of everything else I've done.
