Anyone out there who knows a thing or two about building functional... well, anything? I know there's always been some of you around, but with our dwindling numbers, I'd like to see if there are still some useful specimens out there! [Word choice, though.]

So, if anyone's been wondering, the border between the Dead Zone and our more occupied places around the city and the castle have seen no real activity, luckily enough. I guess you have me to thank, since I've been keeping a vigilant eye-- or eight-- by way of the last remaining outposts!

Yeah, they sure are still a thing. If anyone ever feels like leaving the castle and helping me keep watch, I suppose I can relinquish my duty! For some time.

Don't worry, it has yet to set fire while I'm here!

If any of you newbies are curious, there is a transportalizer located around the castle for swift travel over here! I'll give you the location if you're really intent on coming over here. Otherwise, let me know if you have any questions!

What's out there that we're in need of outposts for?

There are a number of things! [LET HER TELL YOU.]

They were initially started as a way to observe the borders between the "powered" zones and the "unpowered" zones in the world. Quite often, the castle at large would go on expeditions in order to explore the vast reaches of the uncharted world, using this as a "last stop" until the great outdoors! They were meant to be used as supply outposts and, in a tight pinch, bunkers if the castle was ever unsafe.

As they stand today, they are used as vantage points to see if there are any troubles our way, such as any of the weird creatures or various dangers out there! Mostly by me, but whatever.

Back in the day, it was multiple people working in shifts and such! But, everyone has since then left, leaving little ol' me in charge!

I'd like to do more than just be able to control people's luck and minds! Something more along the lines of, I don't know, moving objects! Or something more offensive rather than status inducing!

I'm...glad to be able to help, if I can. Um. Defended in what way? I prefer not to fight, if I don't have to, but I might be able to come up with some defenses. What are we defending against?

There are a lot of things out there that can hurt us! They range from bug monster people to weird animals to... whatever crazy creepy killers are out there. I'm all about electronics, but I don't know if you know anything more on the primitive side that could work in the de-powered areas maybe?

Oh, yes, I see what you mean. I could probably come up with something electronic, but, as you said, that would be problematic in the de-powered areas. It'd help if I knew more about what we're defending against though, since only the most deadly defenses would work against everything. There are always going to be exceptions too, even against things like fire or freezing cold.

Alas, I know of none. [Well, that's not exactly true. But she doesn't advise picking up potentially sketchy items of power.] Time and patience is all I can recommend.
