Quest 7 - Enter Sandman [Written]
Curse this blasted drowsiness...I have seen writings by others that I am not the only one who suffers, trying to stave off sleep. These sleepwalkers too...
[Dots appear on the page - Thorin is tapping his pen, unable to coordinate his thoughts. He's simply too tired.]
My friends...I ask you, has anyone discovered a way to keep awake? Some manner of drink or spell? I have consumed this thing in the kitchens called 'coffee' - a foreign drink to me, but I am told it keeps one awake - yet I still struggle so...

Coffee should be good enough, but if that's not working, then there is only so much I can do.

Don't worry about it. We'll pull through, same as usual. Meanwhile, that coffee is probably doing as much good as we can get, so I'd suggest making some more of the rest of the castle.

That is indeed true.
Well then, if such is the case, what would you say to meeting me in the kitchen and enjoying some coffee? No sense being alone - and perhaps we would stand a better chance of staying awake if we were there to keep each other from falling asleep.

Sure. Just don't burn the coffee, OK? [She doesn't need to remember the trauma related to that smell. Not right now.]

[Thorin's not really used to coffee - he's had it, certainly. But it's not his usual drink of choice. So be prepared for amusing faces when he starts drinking it.]
Meet you in the kitchen.

[And sure enough, she walks into the kitchen not too long after carrying her biteless Apple laptop with her.]

Good to see you.
[His eyes are half-closed, so it's a wonder he can see her at all.]

I have tried...each time I think back to all that I must accomplish back home, I grow weary and stressed. It only seems to make my fatigue worse.

Then do not think on those things. There is little to be accomplished from worrying about home. Focus instead on the here and now.

I shall indeed try...though that is easier said than done, I fear.
