Today I have been in this place for a year. There is still much I do not understand about its ways as well as the ways of the people who live here, including all of you. There are times where I think I am adjusting, where I think I am understanding, but then something happens and it is clear that I am not.

I am not sure if I will ever understand.

Um... so you will be cautious around him? Haytham.

I suppose. As cautious as I am around anyone I have heard bad things about.

And how cautious is that?

Cautious enough. Do not be nosy.

I am serious about this.

As am I. I am more than twice your age, and infinitely more experienced in matters of politics and life and death. I can fend for myself, Connor.

[But she's never met a Templar, not as far as he knows. A man whose entire existence is manipulation and brainwashing and control. He hopes there's a way for him to save him, to show him the error of his ways; this place is the best for it, he thinks, where there is no conflict except ideologies that are moot to begin with. In what other areas do you have expertise?

Drinking. Gymnastics. Fashion [NO YOU DO NOT, MOLOTOV]. Marriage, I suppose, if being in the longest-lasting marriage in Paradisa counts.

And so, since you are married... and you are a woman... what is something that a woman should receive as a gift?

Uhhhh... what kind of woman? That is important, I suppose.

I do not understand the question.

Well, not all women are the same, so not all women would like the same gift. What is she like?

Um... she is kind and good, though I do not think she agrees with the latter.

Wh-- nyet, no, I mean what kinds of things does she like? Her hobbies, favorite colors, things like that.

Um... she likes to eat, I think, she is always having me try foods. And she is interested in battle. Sparring, things like that.

And why are you giving her a gift?

She is my friend and she has died. She should be returning soon, and I thought perhaps she would like a gift.

Ah. Well, perhaps avoid any weapons, given the circumstances. Perhaps bring her chocolates, if she likes foods.

Are you certain?

Flowers, chocolates, stuffed animals... those are traditional gifts in these situations. Or if there is another food she particularly cares for, that is another choice.

There is a traditional gift for one who has come back from the dead?

Well, traditional gifts for people who are sick. I figure they are close enough.

I suppose you are right. There are animals here now, so I may be able to find one, though I do not know if I will have its hide cured in time.
