The last time the castle changed it was only for a week, but we're coming up on two now and things are still the same. Which, you know, I guess that makes sense, with all the improvements instead of transporting us back in time to a place where the water made you sick, but whatever.

Point is, I kind of thought things would change back. I guess when you get a magical demon baby as a boss fight all bets are off, you can't really back down after that.

[And to think there was a time in her life when walkers were the thing that was the most out of place, they were the thing you needed to take the time to wrap your brain around. Now? It's shooting babies. Speaking of which-]

I'd just like to put it out there that I don't usually go around shooting children in the face, by the way. Just... so that's clear.

That's different. This is different. Even the most shithole neighbourhoods of the Quarantine Zone had plumbing. You might only be able to flush once a day, but there was plumbing.

While everyone else was busy with their nightmares, a group of us got past the people guarding the room. The rest was... really creepy history, I guess.

Unfortunately, I arrived on the last night and missed nearly all of the incident. What room are you talking about? Who was guarding it?

Way I hear it, the people who woke up are the lucky ones. I'm glad you managed to stay out of trouble, though.

It was the Insolitus. A bunch of other residents who were still dreaming were there. They tried to drive people off, but they weren't entirely successful. You should be glad you missed all the fun, from what I've heard the nightmares were pretty bad.

It ended up not doing a whole lot of good other than to distract it, anyway. The fucking thing took a whole clip to the face and just laughed.

Yeah, that's how it goes sometimes. Our "Walkers" reach a point where bullets don't do anything. Sometimes you just have to hack it.

Yeah, that's... that's what we went with, in the end. Anne Boleyn hacked at it with a knife and this blonde girl stabbed it with its own fucking spindle.

Somehow, this became a normal part of my life. I still don't get it some days.
