06 - Voice - The awakened one
[ He's muffling a yawn. ]
Long naps are something I've had to get used to, but that one was... particularly long. And not particularly restful ones. [ Yes, he is talking about that whole sleepers thing. ]
Or maybe it wasn't that long? How long will do changes to the castle itself normally last? The changes to other places seemed to... not take this long to go away.
... not that I mind the changes to the library.
[ Filtered to Wade: His handwritting is sort of terrible. Don't mind that- ]
... I think I owe you an apology, at the very least.
[ It's foggy. He's not quite sure. ]

[voice]
[ That certainly is a sarcastic bite to his voice. He's still frustrated that he could be put under a sleeping spell for several days immediately upon arrival. ]
How has the library changed from before?
[ Relevant to his interests. ]
[voice]
[ He's rather cheerful sounding for that. ]
It used to be.. two floors, inside the castle where everyone is staying. Instead of whole tower.
[voice]
Good to know they are looking after our education.
[ More of that sarcasm. ]
Are there any libraries other than theirs? In the city perhaps?
[ He bets the Castle's library will be lacking in information that might help him escape. He's still in the process of scouting the city, but he will have memorized most of it soon enough. Better sooner than later. ]
[voice]
It didn't before this, as far as I was aware. And I don't see anything resembling a library like I would have seen home in an area without plumbing.
[voice]
[ This troubled him, for the Assassins had benefited from a populace's vigilantes before. The complacency of the people and the daily drills of the knights did nothing to assuage his concern. ]
[voice]
[voice]
[voice]
Then there is its ability to do "losses". Home, human experimentation has only produced people who have no emotions and heightened magic or physical abilities - that's nothing like what the castle does. So great power there too.
[voice]
That is probably why it has deigned to allow us our minds. It seems it is bent instead on setting us on certain paths and clouding our eyes. An ignorant man—better, several ignorant men—can do great damage. I must see to it that I do not become one of them.
[voice]
[ He didn't mean to attack someone he did. ]
Particularly when there is a charismatic ignorant man leading them into chaos. Or someone who isn't ignorant but feigns it - there are quite a few possibilities.
[Sion]
Maybe. I'm not sure I'd really blame what happened on you but...look...can we meet somewhere to talk?
[Wade]
Ah... There is a new building, a sort of glass house with plants in it. Is that good?
[Sion]
Yeah. That'll work. I'll be down there in a few minutes.
[Wade]
I'll let you get there and get comfortable?
[ Wait a few minutes before walking down, more or less. They're on the same floor, so he'll.. follow from a distance. Will that make it less awkward? He has terrible role-models about this. Lucile and Froaude don't care. ]
[Sion] => action
Okay. Sounds good...
[She'll close the journal then and make her way downstairs to the greenhouse and settles on a bench to wait.]

And so he heads down after what he thinks is a couple minutes, and awkwardly looks about. Red hair, red hair- Ah.
He'll just awkwardly stand well out of arm and sword reach. Sorry- ]
... I suppose it would be easiest to explain if you pick a thing to question?
no subject
Maybe start with telling me what you remember?
no subject
Ryner isn't your height or a redhead.
no subject
no subject
I'm.. sorry.
[ Somehow, he thinks adding that "I couldn't actually manage to kill him either" wouldn't help anything. ]
no subject
Can you just explain to me how it was that you went from searching for someone - the Ryner you kept asking for - to...that.
no subject
[ He almost fidgets. His hands tuck into his sleeves for a moment, then back out at his sides. ]
It's... complicated. And doesn't make very much sense....
[ But he sighs heavily, and might speak a little more quickly. ]
If I kill him, he won't go to an eternal hell. And since he's my best friend...
[ ... His world is a mess? ]
no subject
no subject
[ Yeah, like why murder won't send someone to this hell. ]
no subject
[She's trying he best to get what he's saying, but it's difficult]
no subject
And a huge mess. Everything about home is, really.
no subject
Come here...
no subject
... Here?
no subject
no subject
Oh. Here.
no subject
She squeezed his hand and looked at him]
I'm sorry. I don't really have any idea of what that might be like, to have to do something like that. I'm sure it's not easy...
no subject
Its a mess.
no subject
That sounds like an understatement.
no subject
Biggest understatement, I think. Next to Ferris loves dango and Ryner loves sleep.
no subject
Those two are...really good friends of yours?
no subject
[ And now he looks a bit embarrassed as he looks at her, still leaning into that hug. ]
... Rather than a king.
[ Something he neglected to mention, didn't he- ]
no subject
Scion...
[And she immediately renews the hug, this time with both arms. Awkwardness be damned]
Those are the best kind of friends to have. I understand why you'd miss them.
no subject
What does he do about hugs? Honestly, he was expecting her to hit him when she pulled away, not to resume the hug with both arms. ]
Eh-
[ Its true. They stick with him, casual book-over-door 'attempts on his life' and blackmail aside. So slowly he brings his arms up under hers to return the hug. ]
Its not like I don't have other support, but.. [ Most of them, he's still not quite a person. ]
no subject
[She knows that better than most.]

[ He sounds thoughtful, if anything. ]

[ They're still in the castle, after all. ]

[ There's something almost pointed about his question, suddenly. ]
dictated;
[ ... Okay, since the guy was asking so intently. ]
That happens? Sleeping and waking up home?
dictated;
dictated;
I'm not sure if I want to try sleeping for a particularly long time, or avoid sleeping even more.
