[ Dictated or Action in the Terrere Tower - Summer ]

The art has been remarkable of late, bursts of color in the halls and over the journals. You should all be commended for your efforts but... have you noticed the waves? Some how these stand out above all else.

It is quite mesmerizing the way the water is pushed to shore in all those ripples and swirls. I have stood here for hours watching them.

[There is no sense of concern when he says this. There is only deep awe that grows the longer he watches the spirals. ]

Che meraviglia.

[As he speaks the swirls in the waves seem to draw him in. Giovanni crosses the beach without even realizing he had been pulled so near to the side of the ocean until the water splashes over his boots, but even this is no deterrent. ]

Do you know if you look further out toward the horizon there are even larger spirals in the water?

[The sea water was up to his knees now but he couldn't stop now. He had to see more!]

They are so far from shore. It makes one wonder...

The swirls we see on the surface are only cosmetic, how deep might the real current spiral down? Would they travel all the way to the ocean floor? Beyond? I must know...

The crazy face alone made me tag this

[Autumn and the Doctor is mesmerized by the trees, the patterns in branches and how the leaves swirl when they fall. By him are shredded sunflowers. Where they came from are anyone's business, but his fingers are stained yellow from picking out the florets feverishly, counting out the Sequence as he went.

This however, this catches some of his attention, some awe and reverence in his own voice.
]

Whorls and eddies, all the way down. How are they apart from wonderful?

I have seen and heard the same. It is very disappointing. I fear foul play has a hand in that. There is nothing to fear in something so beautiful, repeating, and infinite. I know the spirals are everywhere, I've always known, but to take the time to admire and appreciate them, study their nature...

[Completely normal, you and I. The Doctor hasn't taken into account his own lapels, which is probably fortuitous at this point.]

It's not just the water. It's in the wind, as well. Just look at the way it plucks leaves from trees and spins them about.

Yes, it's very strange—they worried me at first, but now I see there's nothing to fear. They're fascinating—there must be so much we can learn from them.

I don't know about that. I find the air has much more to offer; perhaps even the secret of flight, around and around.

[He's been looking for his father for this very purpose: with people going mad all around, it is always wise to check in with loved ones.

This isn't what he hoped for, however.

As soon as he sees his father, he moves into a jog towards the water.]

Father! Stop this, this is madness.
