[It takes him a little while to think on how to do this. His journal is open and he's lightly tapping his fingers against the pages in thought. It almost seems like he's not aware he's doing it until he speaks.]

There is one who arrived recently who is alike a sister to me. Her name is Tauriel and I would be glad if you were all to treat her as kindly as you would treat me.

[Nitaaaa. It's not cute, he's a very concerned brother. He will never admit it's cute. Never. Especially after meeting South Dakota when he arrived. He wants to spare Tauriel that if possible.]

She is spirited and clever, very skilled in combat. And she is good fun when there is chance for it.

Sounds like a good person to have around.

She truly is. I hope that you will both get along. Perhaps she might better appreciate your music.

[A laugh] Maybe. I might have to introduce you to my sister too, you know. Just to even things out.

I wouldn't object. What is your sister like?

Tough,too smart for her own good, a little annoying sometimes, but she's a good kid.

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

That sounds a great deal like a sibling.

Yeah, but Dair's not exactly your typical little sister. She's something else. [And, yes, that is a little bit of pride in her voice.]

[His voice softens just slightly, knowing.] You are proud of her.

She's done some pretty amazing stuff, especially for someone as young as she is. [A beat] Don't tell her I said that, though.
