(The sound of steel of hitting steel can be heard from the tower where the Mages frequent. There are also spells being shouted to the open air and bright flashes of light.)

This castle grants wishes, but only to a certain degree. If the restraints were lifted, what would you wish for? What would you change about your environment?

There are times I feel...weak. Yet this castle has given me everything I could ever want.

(Except for Gala and being a true Herald.)

I want to grow into a man that others can depend on. I know now that mistakes can become strength. Everything I need to be the best version of me is already inside of me.

(He chuckles softly and sheathes his sword.)

I try to be humble too. Sometimes.

[ It did not take Vanyel much time to figure out where Tylendel was. Perhaps it was their bond, but he seemed to know on an instinctually level where his beloved was, if he really thought about it. Not an exact location, but enough he could guess, and he usually did so rightly.

He came once the other had worked himself out, he approached close and opened his arms to him, kissing the soft golden curls. ]

Peacocks are never humble, my love. But they are reliable.

I think my aunt would have much to say on that subject.

[ He tugged a golden curl, feeling very satisfied to have his beloved in his arms. He had been worried with the Spirals, where he had not been himself. He was glad to see their relationship had not been damaged by his forced mania. ]

Were you practicing your magic again?

[ He turned his head and kissed his fingers. ]

Much better thank you.

Well enough to have you take up your sword and fence against me.

[ He grinned, letting him go and wishing up his own rapier. He had never been a heavy sword type of man, and his rapier had always served him well. He swung it a few times, nodded at the balance, and turned to stand at the other end of the room, poised in the traditional fencer's challenge pose. ]

[ He listens for a little while, trying to figure out if he can piece together how the magic works by sound alone. Nope, he's better when it is all around him. ]

Aside from the obvious, a treant, a polwigle, and... [ He's silent for a moment. What was that other one? ]

... there's another one. I can't remember. It is "some monsters", really.

[ Because he is uneasy about his friend... ]

[ He laughed brightly, meeting the thrust easily and stepping into riposte. He had always thought Tylendel talented with a blade, and really the only thing Vanyel had on him no was experience, but that could make all the difference in any fight, couldn't it? He kept it light though, stepping and dancing through the paces, enjoying the bought - obvious by the grin on his face. ]

Treants are thick trees that walk, and polwigles are blue tadpole like creatures that are about as tall as the knee of the average man. [ Squirrigles are the best. ]

I have a monsterbook, but cannot transcribe its images well. [ Due to the whole "can't see" problem. ]

I have one monster already, but there are others that could be helpful.

Haha, no, not quite so much. I am a bit old to play with the Trainees back home, and otherwise I am on Circuit.

[ He panted and dropped down low and thrust forward, a sharp little move he had learned and perfected on said Circuit when fighting off the Karsite mages' demons. ]

... I .. could give you the information - let you look through the monster book - and you could attempt to convince the castle that you want one as a gift?

[ He doesn't know what other type of help Tylendel is offering. Still finds this friendliness confusing! ]

A Minicoid. It is... a round mushroom about as tall as my knee.

[ Vanyel bites back a little grin of victory, standing straight and sheathing the blade, allowing Tylendel time to regain his. ]

I would have loved to go with you too, my love. Having you all to myself with no obligations except when we come to the villages? Heaven.

[ He laughed, letting himself be tugged forward. His own arms slid around Tylendel, kissing his cheek. ]

Things I dare not even whisper in a tower of mages, my love.

::Yes, that we do, my love::

[ It felt nice to talk like that again, as they did in their most tender moments. He touched his forehead to Tylendel's, smiling. ]

::Yes, I remember. I was jealous of Gala so very much and anyone else who could speak to you like this. I wondered what it was you shared, if it was different.::

[ He reached up, stroking his cheek gently. ]
